do you take the shot?

How sure do you have to be before taking the shot?

Apparently only to the people that think that twenty shots isn't enough for a week of hunting. And apparently, they all seem to be from the same province. But I am sure that must just be a coincidence, that the only three people posting on this thread that think it's okay to shoot twenty shots at game in a week are from the same province.Unless of course you guys hunt together.

I never posted anything at all about the 20 shot deal. For,or against.I'm not here to gripe about the way anyone hunts.Nor did I vote on your poll, because I have to have an animal in front of me before I make any decision.A what if scenerio is just that WHAT IF.

This is turning into an East/West pissing match, which is what IMO was what it was intended to be all along.Very asinine!

It would probably be fair to say that the % of hunters that didn't coincide with your ethics,or mine would be the same across our whole county. Each to their own.

I'm not a long distance shooter, and wouldn't be comforatable taking a shot at 300yds.What I am good at is killing running deer out to 100yds or so,and I do it well without firing 20 shots in a season.I don't shoot at every deer I see,I pass up shots, and I am far from perfect, nor do I come off as so.Whats my cup of tea may not be yours, vise versa, but I'm not going to horse whip someone who does something I don't agree with.

I spend a pile of time at the range practicing for running game to ensure clean kills.

.

They may all be form the same province but I know plenty of Ontario hunters that don't need 20 rounds to zero, or 20 to put down a deer...:)

What is the guy in the red shirt doing?

How did we ever hunt before the Internet Experts!

take it all with a grain of salt. I'd guess about 50% of the people on here are exaggerating or stretching the truth with every other post.

You can say what you like on the forums, but it's the field that keeps you honest.

The intent of this poll was never meant to create an East/West pissing match, even though it may seem like it turned out that way to you.I myself believe that many of those "almost 100%" votes were posted by people in Eastern Canada.

I fully agree,I don't believe that on the whole the hunting ethics are much different from East to West.I have seen a few western hunters at the local store buying ammunition after they ran out after shooting a box or more on a hunt.

Stubble, Gatehouse,...

How do you feel about the hale mary shots coyote hunting, or the long running shots that quite often miss.

Is it OK to use a few more rounds on Coyotes? or should it again be 6 bulletes=6 coyotes?

Thanks

Yet it was you that posted this

You stubby continue to twist things!
Perhaps a little slower on the reading & conclusions!

7mm's two quotes below can be easily interpreted as a mechanical problem with gun-scope which can easily eat up 20 rounds trying to figure out. Yet you quickly assume otherwise!

7mm Quote:
I stated that if you get off a plane and zero youre rifle and find the gun isnt shooting right, you might need a few more rounds( store bought) if you find the rifle isnt shooting right, and you've burned most of the rounds you've brought at the range, to figure things out.

7mm Quote:
Confirming zero at a local gravel pit when you arrive, and if you're scope is off, or something isn't working properly, and after twenty or thirty rounds trying to confirm zero, you're left with 20 rounds for hunting all week?.

That's what I thought, but it's hard to tell. Looks like he has removed the rifle butt from his shoulder to cycle the action, as it doesn't look like he has kept the rifle on the deer target.

Or he could be still in the "waiting for the deer" position for practice shouldering & firing, since not all hunter walk thru the bush with their rifle "at shoulder" :D

I think Stubby and his ambiguosly ? friend, gate house, are simply grand standing.

They dont really hunt, as hunting was meant to be. On you're feet, gun in hand and start walking.

These two types of guys, hunt on the internet to disrupt the friendly conversations going on here, causing strife and confusion between other hunters. For their own sporting ways.

I wont hold my breath for an apology for what stubby has done here, cause really I wouldn't expect much from a man like him.

I've see what he's made of and wouldn't accept his apology anyways.:(

Coyotes are often pests and vermin, but they deserve a clean death, too.
