Does AK furniture fit the Type 81?

Would you be looking for a handguard similar to the polymer handguards used on the AK 74s of the Russian army?[/QUOTE]

YES exactly like the Russian polymer handguard with or without palm swell but made to exact fitment of the original T81 upper and lower mounting.

Make a whole set like this (but able to.mount onto the T81 the same way as original T81 furniture):

Or even just handguards like this:

To make it into something like this:

Well with that enthusiasm I suppose we shall get started on making a version to fit the type 81. If you have any other suggestions for what type of furniture you might want on the type 81 please let us know.

Another thing is I use to live in Markham but east of there now so if you need a helping hand with anything I can always drop by with a T81

I could see a new grenade launcher sleeve with a incorporated muzzle brake OR threads for one selling good as well. Plus it would be soooooooo easy to create on a CNC turning center.

Time is of the essence now it seems for us firearm owners, hope this isnt a long project!!!

I promise that we should have the designs done by the new year, hopefully the prototype by the end of January, and we should be able to start taking pre-orders in February. It might be delayed by a month or two but a little optimism can't hurt. And bfiles, send us a pm and we'd be more than happy to send you one of the prototypes to test out before we go into the main run.

that ati kit is nice but i would only want the rear bolt cover, if that alone can fit on the t81. that would solve alot of problems for everyone.

The only issue is finding a way for the dust cover to be mounted in a stable manner. We took inspiration from the zenitco approach which was to have a pivot system mounted to the lower handguard. If you see the idea by bfiles, we would be more than willing to make that handguard with the mounting points to attach a railed dust cover.

PM sent and I will definitely take you up on that offer!!!
Thanks!!!

We love your feedback and we would be more than willing to sell each item individually the only exception would be the lower handguard and dust cover, as to maintain a stable platform to mount optics the dust cover would need to mount similarly to the way the Zentico dust cover mounts with the Zenitco lower handguard.

i didnt know anything about Zenitco till i just googled and i must say, now i know where you are going with this. their AK looks very cool.

i see from your draft that there will be a left handed cocking top cover?

If you can make polymer furniture that looks like the AK furniture in the Atlantic Firearms pic I am in!!!

I've been working on trying to mod an old dragunov PSL stock to fit. I liked the idea of doing something different, but I'm a sucker for wood grain on a gun
