Does anyone else think Garands kick ass?

I've owned an M1 for 4 or 5 years now. I shot it for the first time today and it absolutely rocks! I can't believe how well it shoots and what a joy it is to pound away at targets with.

Too bad I didn't realize this back when Lever was selling them for $99 apiece .... :(
 
The only thing better than a Garand is two Garands. :D

A better question would be "does anyone NOT think the Garand rocks?"
Although this would not get many positive reposnses...

haha, I was just giving my Garand some attention tonight and thinking the same thing! I only have one unfortunately, so all the care can go to it until another one joins the family...one day...maybe.....if the wife doesn't find out.....and all that.
 
My garand was used this weekend by myself and a few friends (one of which, a non PAL who has wanted to use a Garand for his whole life)

its such a fantastic gun.

I just cleaned it up tonight and I found myself being as meticulous and careful as I've ever been with anything..

Aha....that must be a nice position to be in!! To have so many guns it takes 5 years to go through them!! Lucky bugger:D
 
Yes Garand = greatness. There is nothing as sweet as firing that bad boy and hearing the ping after the 8th. Gives me shivers. That and almost having my friend crap himself on how loud and accurate it is. :D
 
I get a kick outta the Norinco M14 guys spending an arm and a leg upgrading to USGI parts, when for half the money, you get a complete actual USGI rifle that is the only semi allowed in Canada with more than 5rds. Even putting a new .308 barrel on it would come well under what these guys are spending... I guess it's good for us though...
 
They're great guns, but I've divested myself of the 4 I had. Not b/c they are bad guns, but b/c I hated chasing '06 brass in the tall stuff. Stupid reloading. LOL.

FWIW, I got my ass handed to me at the last milshoot by a garand that I actually sold to the shooter that booted my butt! lol...

You sound like you are unsure.:D :D Why doubt your M1, when you have already said its good credentials?
Yes, they kick ass!!!! That was my favorite rifle during my younger days at the Reserve Corps.:)
