Hey guys! I was in very uncomfortable situation today, and i feel guilty for not knowing 100% status on powder. I work at a gunstore and i had an older gentleman come in to buy a mag for 858 and some AA powder, i never saw him before, and i asked to show me PAL when he asked why I replied that it's powder i to the best of my knowledge it's a "component" and i have to ask (last thing i wanted to see after him walking out RCMP (or who ever) come in and do "schooling" to the store), he said he will not show it on principle (witch i do respect and i wish more people were like that, the world be a better place) and that there is now law regulating sale of powder. I know that bullets, mags, AR uppers, barrels are non-controlled and do not require licence to be purchased, but in my mind primers, power and brass always were, so i never mentioned anything about the mag witch i later sold to him. Being in doubts i went around the store and asked co-workers they weren't sure but were the same opinion as me about not selling it with out a licence. It was hard call for me. My conversation with the man went he had never had to show it at other places in town and that they only wrote his address in a book at one, and i my experience in the same places were different and i always been asked for a pal when buying powder (though i still look like 17 year old especially when i shave), and so i shared with him, so as it seem to me he wasnt 100% sure in his words either and backed down disappointly saying i can put it away and he'll just get the mag. At as he was leaving i promised him i'll find out about this, and if it indeed does not require licence to purchase i'll never asked anyone for it again when selling the powder, his reply was something like: "who cares"
but not something i could reply "I do". Please anyone can put some light on this, what ever the answer is it would make my day better.
