Does it make sense to start reloading or PITA?

Too slow a powder. IMR 4831 more for 6.5x55 like cartridges.
110.0 means 110% capacity of case at 16.0 gram charge. = compressed charge. You want to go there?
Maybe in a really strong action like Ruger #1.

nope. good point. It does have low pressure tho and probably much quieter than the 30000 PSI loads ...

with a cylindrical pistol case, how much can a load be reduced? It should not cause pressure spikes, unlike necked cases?

Powder so slow a lot of it wont burn before leaving the muzzle.
If I were you, I would use Alliant 2400 or Unique for the stronger loads, and Titegroup for the softer loads.

I can get those powders locally. Which would be the best choice for light loads .357?

Alliant Rifle Powder - Reloader 17
Alliant Smokeless Heavy Rifle Powder - Reloader 19
Alliant Smokeless Magnum Rifle Powder - Reloader 22
Alliant Smokeless Medium Rifle Powder - Reloader 15

Way too slow burning, for large capacity bottleneck cases.
Alliant Rifle Powder - Reloader 17
Alliant Smokeless Heavy Rifle Powder - Reloader 19
Alliant Smokeless Magnum Rifle Powder - Reloader 22
Alliant Smokeless Medium Rifle Powder - Reloader 15

Acceptable:

They seem to carry more large capacity rifle powders than anything else.

Thanks! The H110 and 4227 load data runs near 30000 PSI though ... this doesnt look like a light and quiet load ... I think I will give the bullseye a try!

In that case look at the cowboy action shooting loads for 357, but they require lead bullets.

yes but I dont know how far to safely reduce pistol rounds ...

Load data has a minimum and maximum charge weight. Being as green as you are, don't reduce anything yourself and stick to published data only. Sounds like the first component you need is a manual and then you should read it.

700-x

I can most easily get powders at Reliable.... None of the powders in stock there is listed on IMRs website for .357 but on the interwebz you can find load data... its quiet weird....

I am looking for a powder for low recoil and low noise for .357. I would assume that noise comes mostly with chamber pressure so probably should look for a load with low chamber pressures.

Do you have any powder recommendation? (its for .357 rifle)
