Thanks to importers like Canada Ammo and Marstar (whose efforts are greatly appreciated by cheap.... errr frugal shooters like me) we have great access to all sorts of inexpensive, good quality Norinco firearms. We have all sorts of shotguns, rifles, and pistols, but no revolvers. I'm just curious if this is because Norinco doesn't make any, or if there wouldn't be enough of a market here? Norinco seems to make a copy of every firearm known to man, so it seems a bit odd that we haven't seen any revolvers.

Norinco really doesn't "make" most of the guns they export. The factory that makes the np-22 did work up a 357 revolver, but it never went into production. There is a revolver made, but it shoots a weird cartridge, similar to the 38 short. Made for police. Any price we received from Norc made us look to Taurus first.
Revolvers are basically dead worldwide, except for the US, a market which the Chinese cannot access. They are also much more complex to machine than a semi, increasing costs. That, plus competition from firms like Taurus, make the project unfeasible.

Jokes aside, it does not make sense to import revolvers from China, when we have access to $300ish S&W revolvers. The Chinese revolvers suck big time, and will never have the same quality level of S&W revolvers made 80 years ago.

That is probably the odd .38 short that Can Am was talking about. That definitely isn't 9mm parabellum.

I'd like to see a norc wheelgun.
And you don't have to look at the case length to see it's not a 9mm Capp. It's a revolver round with a rim.

My original Colt 1911a1 is 66 yrs old and shoots & looks as good as the day it was made
