Does owning an SKS make your IQ lower?

I got my Type 56 and 1440 of 7.62x39 for like $350 a couple years ago.
Even came with the crappy NCStar scope mount and MCStar tri-railed 3-9x scope. Mount got tossed like the garbage it was but, the scope works well on my 715T .22.
 
This isnt just limited to SKS's. It is so with a lot of firearms.

Back in the day, if you resold a firearm that you purchased, You were considered doing very well if you recouped your base cost for the gun. Nowadays it seems that sellers want to recoup not only the cost of the gun, but taxes and shipping as well. Also it seems that some want to recoup the time they spent searching and buying it as well as the mileage to the post office!!

But hey, if people are willing to pay, why not go for as much as you can get?
 
Its just the EE being what it is. Buying an SKS won't make you retarded, if it does then likely 50%+ of this board has a problem. And I will have to smarten up a WHOLE bunch just to qualify as retarded!

I know a certain sporting goods store in Calgary that usually has Simonovs for $200. If you get a staff member who gives a damn about customer service and milsurps, and ask real nice you can get them to pick out a #1 for you (although store policy prohibits this). I wouldn't pay more than than $150 for a used one. Collecting SKS rifles is like collecting cereal boxes. It may be fun but don't expect it to ever be worth more than a cereal box.

For the record, I've got two. One that is tacticool to the max, and one that is unmodified for the wall hanger. I still remember to take down my pants down before I go to the bathroom, and that's smart enough.

I had one...decided I didn't want it and sold it to a pal.

A couple of months later I realized I made a mistake...a great, cheap to shoot wood-n-steel rifle..stupid me!

So I went to the gun show and found a beautiful Russian refurb and bought it for less than twice what I got from my pal for my old one.

And the moral is: Maybe having an SKS makes you dumb, but if you don't have one you'll be smart enough to realize you NEED one.

Aaaaand...now I'm confused.

lol......yes I have noticed this myself . But hey , if a seller can make a profit selling a firearm for double its worth....all the more power to them . If a buyer cannot take the time to do a little research and shop around......then they deserve to get ripped off.....the free enterprise system at work....
 
Try and get one new, preferably face to face as the EE sells things for pretty ridiculous pricing. I sold a Chinese SKS for $200 shipped with a side folding stock with railed upper hand guard and railed receiver. It's all in what the seller thinks he can get away with.

It says you got lower IQ when you buy a truck load of 5/30 round mags when a free stripper clip can load the rifle in 10% of the time that it takes to change the mag. How fast a fools money becomes departed is directly proportional to ones lowering IQ.

Selling on the EE, lowers IQ : Buying on the EE, causes a raise in blood pressure, nausea, and fainting spells
