Does the AI Enfield use an M14 magazine?

Second question, how much of the time that has been spent on this board and others, as well as in pool rooms and basements, debating on the best way to have a higher capacity magazine for a particular rifle, could have been spent getting the stupid ban lifted. Then the point becomes moot.

The only thing lifting that ban is if we are occupied by hostile forces and need to resort to guerrilla warfare.

In the meantime if I can get an extra five shots then great, I will have more practice in.

I'm surprised that no one has reported yet on whether an unaltered AIA magazine will function in an M-14.

That was as of 06-12-2007,

x2 It has been months since you guys have reported receiving and fitting the mags, but no reports if they will fire correctly.

Anyone?

I'm working a new job and trying to deal with bolt-scraping, then mount a forward rail before I get a chance to get out to the range with it. Don't even have .308 ammo or reloading dies yet.

Mags

Hi, so can I flip this around? ;)

Would it be legal to fill in the front magazine latch hole (weld, braze etc) on a 20 round M14 magazine, unpin it (from the legal 5) and have a 20 round magazine for an AIA Bolt action?

By the rules, there is no magazine capacity restriction on bolt action rifles. If the M14's front latch hole is welded / filled in would then be considered not compatible with the M14. Correct ??????

Now that is really going to speed up times on "the mad minute". :dancingbanana:

Any brainiacs want to chime in on this one? Because if this is legal I would be looking for some 20 and 30 round M14 mags to convert to AIA use only.
Sure it would only be in a bolt action, but really....when the semi-auto guy is changing his mags after 5 rounds, a guy would still be shooting his AIA and still have 25 rounds to go out of a 30 round mag.

Arch:)

modifying and then pinning an m14 to 10 rounds..... still makes it an m14 magazine..... a prohibited one at that.

The reason it would not be illegal to use a 10 round AIA magazine in an M14 , if it does indeed fit and funtion, is because the magazine is.... and this is the most important and deciding factor..... manufactured as a 10 round magazine for a bolt action rifle and is subsequently marketted as such. Such magazines are exempt from the 5 round restriction and are allowed a 10 round capacity.

A 10 round AR .223 pistol .... ie: LAR15 is registered as such, a pistol..... therefore, the magazines made specifically for , and marked for that version of the Ar type..... falls under the laws pertaining to handgun magazine capacity.... which is 10 rounds...... and apparently the LAR15 magazines function just fine in the good ol AR15 rifle.
