does the BC CFO have a direct phone number?

i called 1 800 731 4000 and 0 and then asked the nice lady to transfe me over to cfo in surrey, the ext is 9530 im waiting as we speak haha i just wanna ask them a simple question, im gonna be moving in 2months and have restricted weapons what do i do for a att to and do i have to give them my new address?

just in case others are wondering, i got off the phone with cfo and they said to call them a couple days before the move and give them your new address and then they will email you a short term att and a new ltatt

i called this am, looking for some answers why i need to wait 2 fn months for a transfer from someone in the same province..."everything is in order, try calling back next week", what a joke, are we being "punished" for the demise of the LGR?

Our Club liasion with BC CFO spoke with CFO a day or so ago. They indicate that current waits in BC for PAL are 4 months and simple transfers take a minimum of one month.

The reason sited is since the long gun registry was scrapped they have been overwhelmingly inundated with PAL applications. Since the process includes phone contact with applicant and sponsors etc. it just takes a long time.

It would appear that folks who did not want to be bothered with having to register their long guns have now jumped into the system.

Transfer of my pistol is now four weeks old,and i was told probably another week or so,but i have waited up to seven weeks in the past so they are getting much faster :jerkit:

Purchased a restricted online oct 21st. Took a few days to send a copy of my rpal, so oct 25th the vendor sent in the transfer. due to the deletion of the LGR files that weekend the CFC did not enter the info untill oct 30th. I called today nov 6th to the bc office (ext 9530, picked up after one ring) the nice lady told me the transfer was approved yesterday. She was helpfull enough to send me a new reg card for another firearm aswell. And made sure if I had to pick my new firearm up at canada post to call in for an ATT. Today was a victory in my books.

Called today, extension 9530. Mirimachi picked up, claimed they are now handling BC CFO direct calls as BC is too busy. She also claimed I didn't have a LTATT, and this prevents any transfers from going through now for BC. After double checking, she found the note of my LTATT and told me BC is very very far behind, probably 3-4 weeks. Nice lady, apologized for not being able to speed anything up.

With all the manpower that the CFC has you'd think the CFO's from different provinces would be able to help each other if one province was not able to keep up for some reason.
I'm sure all the "work" is done on a computer so no reason why they can't combine resources although after a while they might realize how dumb it is to have people doing the same job in every province....then they might realize how dumb it is to be doing the job in the first place!

I'm pretty sure that's exactly what's happening. When I called and used the BC CFO extension today at around 2pm, I waited for about 5 minutes on hold and then a really nice lady with and east coast accent helped me out, I didn't catch which CFO office she was with or whether she was with the CFC. She explained that they were taking BC CFO calls and helping them process applications for various things to help clear their backlog.

She also claimed I didn't have a LTATT, and this prevents any transfers from going through now for BC.

That's strange because I contacted my gun shop to ask about that and they said that I do not need an LTATT to initiate a transfer on my gun, and since it's their business you would think they would know...
Doesn't matter anyway as in my effort to get my license number from the BC CFO they submitted an LTATT application for me.

Seems the BC CFO is starting to get faster, my application to transfer was received Nov 23rd and was approved Nov 29th got letter today so I would say that is a lot better than I have been hearing and seeing in the posts here and elswhere.
Hope this is a sign of quicker transfers ahead.
Cheers

Well that is good news! The store my husband bought his pistols at submitted the transfer, STATT and LTATT paperwork November 26th, no word from them or the CFO yet as to whether everything has gone through and he's good to go pick them up.

I have been successful using the 778-571-3400 phone number, however, from what I can tell, I wasn't actually in contact with the BC CFO, but more likely the CFO from Alberta. Initially I had called to check on the progress of the LTATT form which I had faxed in over two weeks ago. I had expected there would be a wait, just wanted to be sure it had been received and at least in the system. I was glad I called, as it turns out, it was, indeed, in the system, however the nice lady I spoke with said she could process it right away and email it to me. Minutes later my LTATT arrived in my email. Who knows how long I would have waited for it to go through the regular system and arrive in the mail had I not called. Now, here's the interesting thing - the email I received was from the Alberta CFO, although the letterhead of the attached LTATT showed the CFO Surrey address. Around the same time I faxed in the form for the LTATT, I also completed my end of the firearms registration transfer process via phone to the CFC. I am the purchaser, in this case. Having received my LTATT, I called the same number again and attempted to obtain an ATT allowing me to pick up the gun form the previous owner. After giving them the transfer reference number, I was informed that the actual registration transfer was still not complete, so no ATT possible until it is. Completion will depend upon the BC CFO, however I was informed that I could call them (at the 778-.... number) every other day or so and check for an update. That way I may be able get the ATT before the registration papers arrive in the mail. I'm assuming it will show up on the computer system, at the Alberta CFO, well before anything gets sent in the mail.

Again, as far as the 778-571-3400 number - I have had no trouble getting through, several times, over the last few days, although sometimes was put on hold for a short while. Also, as far as I know, it was actually the Alberta CFO office I was in contact with. I should also mention, this is my first purchase of restricted firearm, dealing with ATT procedures, etc. and they sure don't make it easy.

Phoned back today. Transfer submitted Nov 17, approved Dec 5. Alberta CFO office answered and was very confused why the transfer had been completed but no transfer notice had been printed and no certificates had been sent to the print queue. She added them to the queue for me.

Well i think im going to try them again tomorrow, hopefully get through and get some answers as my attempt last week was a waste and got told the process takes at least a month to do a transfer and i should give it a few more weeks, was all excited to take my new gun to the range over my christmas vacation but thanks to the BC CFO thats not happening.

BTW transfer process was started dec5

They're slow as molasses again. I bought a pistol from Wholesale Sports on Dec 10th, still waiting on the transfer.

I'm moving into a new place on March 1st. Wonder if I should start pestering them about the move now?

I just got my ATT Yesterday I phoned 1 800 731-4000 ext. 9530, and I was told to email all proof to the Alberta CFO I asked for them just to send it by email. The next day it was in my inbox, and no headache whatsoever.

my transfer finally went through, SFRC had it ready for shipping and in the mail as soon as the holidays were through and pick up was available.....now just a matter of waiting on the shipping company......eagerly checking the tracking number. Thanks to the folks at SFRC for the prompt service on your end even response to my emails during the days surrounding Christmas. Great prices and service that i am happy to recommend to others.
