Meet Pepper!
Pepper is a 4-year-old male. He is house and crate trained.
Pepper came from a bad situation. He has had no training at all. He has learned very quickly about house training and is no longer having accidents. He has some dog reactivity after recently being attacked, but we think he could get over this with a strong leader and some guidance.
He needs a home which will provide him with love and patience to allow him to develop into the fine GSP we strongly feel he has the potential to be. He will need a home that is willing and able to provide training.

Not looking for $$. Wasn't an option for free. If you want to throw in a Timmy's card or 9mm ammo or glock mag/holster. That's okay by me.

Can send pics to an email. House trained. It is my cousins dog. He had to move out of province and not able to take all 3 dogs with him. I would just like a good home for him preferably a home with another dog and kids.

He was in a home with two other dogs and 2 small children. No issue's Hes a big softy. He's still a pup so he will take any opportunity to play or go for a walk.

Please no profit hunters. Am not looking for individual whose going to turn around and try to sell for a buck.

Looking for a good home for our neutered 4 year old GSP. An acreage would be ideal with no kids or other dogs. He is quite well trained and loves hunting. any word yet on this fine young man? It just breaks my heart that I can't take him! Those kind of dogs have to be in a one dog home or else there is big trouble. I'm sure he is a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, he looks identical to my best pal Willy.

my guess he is still up for adoption , but he is in a foster home until he is adopted [ as they are not looking for a foster home for him ]

Meet Scout. He's a 2 year old German Shepard x rottweiler. He weighs about 50 lbs.
Scout likes other dogs, runs on the beach and in the forest and snoozing on his dog bed.
He is looking for a home without children.

Sienna is a 3 year old 20 lbs Cairn Terrier mix. She must be adopted with her friend Simba as they are very bonded.

Meet Simba, he's a 3 year old 50lb dog. He is bonded with his friend Siena and must be adopted with her.

I'm beautiful Trella, a 6 year old GSP girl. I'm solid liver and I'm on the small side for my breed, so I'm portable! I'm a little timid at first but I warm up quickly. I just had a bath and I'm getting to know all my new friends at daycare. I'm good with all people, all dogs but no cats for me! I'm calm in the house as long as I've had the exercise I need

Joey, is an 18 mo. old energetic boy, weighing 71.8 lb and up-to-date with his vaccinations. He is affectionate with everyone - loves
playing with other dogs and children. We would suggest that the children be older than 8 because in his enthusiasm for fun, he might
knock a young child over by accident. He is good in the car but will need help with leash-walking. A harness might help so that he
does not tug. Joey needs a fenced yard so
he does not get lost and an active family to train him in manners suitable for a handsome, large young man. Send applications to

Duke is a 50 lb. male pointer/coonhound/Lab/Catahoula X -who was given up by original family because they fell on hard times. He is currently being fostered with 7 other dogs and a cat and a toddler. He is a strong dog and will need someone who knows how to leash train him. His foster says he is friendly but we think he would be best in a home without tiny children in case he knocks them over. A fenced, large yard would be perfect for him and an owner who has the time to exercise him.

Chuck is a large 70 pound, neutered male blue tick hound. Obedient and playful. His rescuer says he is a nice boy. He was a stray, and although he is not leash trained, he does well with a front clipping harness. The vet thinks he is about 3 yr. old. He would probably chase cats so needs a
fenced yard and someone who has the time to train, exercise, and play with him. Hounds are very loving, family dogs. He is large and will be excited to be out of a kennel, we suggest older children only. dogwoodrescuesociety@gmail.com

Meet Major…
He is quite well trained. His recall is good, he knows our rules around the house and doesn’t need to be reminded. For instance, he knows he sits before coming in the house and does so automatically. He knows he isn’t allowed through the gate in the backyard and wouldn’t go through it without the OK - he might sit there for 30 minutes waiting..when we are home..
He would make a great hunting dog. He is not gun shy. He loves hunting and gets excited when he see...s the guns. He is not trained for birds, but I believe he could easily be trained. He is smart. He will retrieve a bird, but he hasn’t been taught to have a soft mouth. He heels well.. He points naturally and again with a little training would make an excellent bird dog. We actually have a contract with the City to chase geese off of the parks in town.
Major, has an issue with strangers coming into his home and yard he will nip at strangers. He is not overly aggressive and doesn’t go after people when they arrive, but he will nip at them when they walk by him, etc. This is only an at home issue. He will need someone who can commit to working with a positive based trainer to help him with this fear.
He also has separation anxiety. He comes everywhere with us. He is excellent in the car, so if I go to town to get groceries, well, he comes to town to get groceries. He will get out of any backyard. When you are home, he won’t go anywhere. My parents live on 80 acres up on Hwy 24 and he can be outside there with no worries of him wandering. If you are home with him he can be out and wouldn’t ever wander.
He’s not good with small dogs on trails. However, I can take him to the dog park and kennel were he roams with dogs and he is fine. It’s only dogs which run from him on the trails (generally small dogs) He lived with another dog all winter and it’s been great. As I say, this is strictly a trail issue.
We want to find him the right home which will last forever.

Hi I'm Nikan, my name means friend. I'm mostly GSP and possibly mixed with some lab. I'm a gentle, playful boy who hasn't had many friends in the past and I'm amazed at the difference in my life since I was rescued, I'm good with other dogs and people, but I would like to be the only pet in my home. I'm one of the grateful ones; who overcame my fearfulness and discovered that people in my new life... are going to be good to me. They're also going to help me figure out the niceties of being an indoor family dog!. My coat is soft and shiny with gold highlights. I am so happy to have a comfortable, warm place to sleep. Life is so much better! Now I just need to find a family to love me furever! I am full of energy and would love to be someones running partner. I need lots of exercise and I am so smart I would love to have a job - my rescuers think I would excel at search and rescue, scent work, agility or obedience training. I need a calm home without children.

Natasha is an 18 month old Dobie. She's brand new to rescue. She gets along with other dogs and loves playing. We will update as we get to know her!

Larissa is a 2 or 3 year old Dobie. She is brand new to rescue but so far we just see a really sweetie who would love a home of her own. She gets along with other dogs not sure about cats.

Meet Riley Too smile emoticon
He's a 13 year old distinguished gentleman GSP. We are looking for someone who can give him lots of love, attention and walks in his golden years. He is a very special guy and deserves an amazing home full of love and treats. He's brand new to us and we aren't sure about cats.

Meet Leroy! He's a 6 year old chocolate lab. He is good with other dogs provided that they are friendly. He has never been around cats. He comes from a home with twin toddlers and has been excellent with them (Leroy is their best friend). He loves to play fetch and go for walks. He does need work on his leash manners, he is a puller! His recall also needs work, right now he is best suited for a fenced in area when outside but recall can be taught!. He loves to nap and be by his owner's side, loves car rides, loves to play fetch and swim. Snuggling, hugs and kisses is what he lives for! He likes to sleep on his bed but in the same bedroom as his owner. He loves treats! He is neutered, and understands basic commands.

I went to check status on this fine young man and the link didn't work. The last time I checked, some gal and her family were going to put in an application to adopt him. Do you know the outcome of that? I really hope he has gone to a fine home! Dam it, there are the tears again, it saddens me deeply, that I can't take him!

many times people will take them on a trial basis , and they remain as a adoptable dog , until the people officially adopt them .
