Thanks for the tips all. I'm gonna grab a couple minutes ore mags for my M&P as soon as I can free up the funds.
Yah the meet and greet was fun for sure! How's your knee doing Stefan ? I personally never thought "aerobics" with a "hot" pistol while keeping "90" would be included! But was fun for sure and great experience!I am doing mine on May 27th to the 29th I am sooo stooked...
I a had a blast at the meet and great.
Stefan
8am can't come soon enough. I have been reading the rule book and manual. Looking forward to day 2 and getting hands on.
*UPDATE*
Course went great! Can't wait for my first shoot next weekend.
Glad I put the talon grips on my M&P.

I'm pretty green, and my lessons learned so far has been:
Tell the RO you're a new shooter and this is your BB match.
Pay attention to the 90.
Say thank you to everyone who has a tip (even if it's not much of a tip).
Buddy up with a vet on your squad.
Introduce yourself to everyone you shoot with.
Things they don't tell you:
Bring a chair and stuff you'd need if you were working outside. (hat, water, snack, sunscreen etc)
Make a plan and stick to it. You're likely not to be #1, so just plan and execute it cleanly.
Practice the stage at the speed you'll be shooting it. Stride length is different when you run!
Ask a question about the stage briefing when you've got the chance.
Check your targets when they score them.
Bring wet wipes.
Pick brass at the end of the day, there'll be some left over (unless you're looking for 45 and super)
Figure out ways to make the shooting easier, faster comes quickly with comfort.
And yeah, broke and smiling.
It's a 2 day certification course that certifies you to shoot IPSC Competitions held within Canada. So what does the black badge course do?

If you want to shoot IPSC; you take and pass the tests shooting during it.
If you don't want to shoot IPSC - you can forget all about it.
You're very welcome! Thanks for the info Sir.
May I ask who your instructor was? Also where you did your course?
did my course in Brandon Manitoba at the Brandon wildlife range
That definitely was a blast !! My knee is good I will be up there in July for a couple of weeks and definitely will try and make a Thursday night practice . I am also coming up for te match in June
To make a Correction... Hangun Practice Night - IPSC Discipline is almost every Thursday Evening from 6pm-8pm depending on the interest involved. There is a list on the Eganville and District Sportsman's Club of the Dates of Practice Nights.
Safety equipment (eyes and ears), 4-5 mags, mag holders, holster and belt and of course ammo (~300-400 rounds).
