I had the same thought, it seems as if there are some parts missing here. And I'm not sure how you could #### it by hand, the pins that push the strikers back take a lot of force.

Just turn it over is put the strikers in cocked position by pushing down in edge of bench
If in the field a pair of channel lock pliers work good
