Dominion Arms AR15 after 15 000 rounds

Hang on - 8500 through an NEA? - "Everyone" on CGN knows that just isn't possible, could it be you have the golden touch - 23,000 rounds through "junk" Chinese AR's and 8500 through a "junk" NEA. Say it ain't so!

Hell, I just want the money Gatehouse would have to spend for that kind of round count in a couple years!!!! (the time to do it would be nice too!!!!) :p:p:p

Here's the setup from today- Leupold 6-20 scope with high rings.

It was a bit breezey today but we got a few groups shot. Ammo selection was PMC, Wartak, Federal, Tula and MFS

Tula didn't do so well. I haven't used this in a long time, but I recall it being more accurate than this 13000 rounds ago.

Federal did pretty good, and MFS didn't suck

The Wartak benefited from the better scope setup

PMC was about the same but I sorta expected better. Of course it could have been operator error :)

That's it for now! This rifle will be at least up to 20K by the end of the summer. Assuming it doesn't fall to pieces. :)

All I wish is that I had done an accuracy test when it was new, to get a baseline for how the round count effected it. Didn't even think of it as this rifle has always been a range blaster

Thanks for an update. What is the barrel length???

Oh no! It's starting to fail! A number of failures to extract, stovepipes and cases left behind on top of the magazine today! :)

Looks like the (brand new) firing pin retaining pin keeps trying to work itself out, too.

Will it make it to 20K? :)

Bolt rebuild kit time? Time to (UGH!) clean the gas tube? I'm betting it'll come back, because it's bolt/spring related, most guns would have either died or needed a major rebuild by this point.

Replaced the extractor and spring and the buffer spring. Tried to replace the ejector and spring but only got the retaining pin half way out, it wouldn't come any further and I was out of taper with the punch I had on hand. Anticipating somethign like this, I ordered a coupel more BCG last week, hopefully this stopgap repair will last until then. :)

Good to see these rifles being used and holding up well!

I gifted my 14.5" Norky after a little over 21,000 rounds as a parts rifle although the new owner tells me that he still shoots it regularly. Did have to replace the barrel after ~12,000 rounds as my groups were opening up with standard military FMJ. Replaced a few parts later on as a preventative measure, but nothing really broke on it with regular use.

Good to see other people getting lots of use out of these inexpensive guns, too! :)

I couldn't resisit the great deal so I just ordered a brand new S&W 15 Sport Gen 2. This gun might get sent into the back of the safe after it shows up. But how could I resist a nice S&W for only 700 bucks??

Curious to see how you like the S&W Sport after having the norc go through so many rounds. How many rounds is the expected life for the average AR anyways? 15,000 plus rounds seems like an awful lot lol.

Some people were wondering about the barrel:

Bottom one is the DA one with 15 000 rounds. Top one is the Norinco CQA with 8000 rounds, with the more typical barrel.

Just ordered a second S&W 15, I coudln't resist.....So both of these may go onto the chopping block for cheap. :)

It seems that top one is CQA and bottom one is Dominion Arms.

Would you like to share the pictures of your CQA internals like BCG,FCG and upper receiver's inside wear after 8,000 rounds. Thanks
