I had my very first fail to fire round today. I've shot almost 4000 rounds of 7.62x39 non-corrosive Dominion Arms (Ukrainian) ammo from my Russian SKS, my Chinese SKS and my CSA VZ58. I was shooting the VZ today and I pull the trigger around 100 rounds in, and "click"... nothing. I dropped the mag, cleared the round and reinserted it into the magazine. Racked the bolt and pulled the trigger...click. Again dropped the mag and cleared the round from the chamber. I saw a very nice strike on the primer area.

The round looked ok, but I disgarded the round and continued. No more problems. I must say, this stuff is good! No immediate cleaning required. Very consistant. I was just surprised today when it failed to go boom. I would recommend this ammo. And...you can even get it with a hollow point.

Edit: Yes, I did count to 60 before I dropped the mag and cleared the chamber each time.

I did chamber the same round a second time. No joy again. So, I threw it in the brass bin.

Still, not bad.... 1 FTF out of almost 4000 rounds fired.

Enjoy while you can. The factory now is on the territory occupied by Russia, it will take couple of year for Ukraine to rebuild the facility in new location and for sure it will be focusing on Ukraine's Army needs, not on selling to Canada.

@saskcop - Ukraine is not commie county and is paying for this very high price these days.

Ukraine is not a commie country? No kidding genius. i have family there and know what it is about.

I thought dominon arms ammo was chineese not ukranian?
I believe it's one of those catch-all brand names that buys up surplus from anywhere it can and repacks and resells it. The company is located in China but where their products is produced can be anywhere.
Kind of like Barnaul ammo; they are based in New Zealand and just resell ammo from "mostly" Russia but it can be from any number of countries.

I thought DA is Canada Ammo brand for whatever they can source for. Like Norinco made shotguns, LCW (Ukrainian) made ammo, some russian shotshells etc.

@saskcop - "no kidding genius" you're saying? Isn't that the "commie politeness style" bug bite? Thanks of course for educating the person who spent 35 year there, most of his adult life eradicating commie disease. You don't have to look that far for commies, btw, look at our Liberals.
