If I remember correctly the FRT disk classes them as restricted if you put a pistol grip on a 12.5"
Ryan
yeah
when you call in to register your 870 Express or Wingmaster with the new 12.5" barrel (Dlask or Grizzly), they will have two different FRT numbers: one for
restricted, and one for
non-restricted.
you need to specify that it is the non-restricted one because the OAL of the gun is ~31" (measure). regardless, the people doing the transfers are incompetent as hell - i emphasized at least four times that i was registering a an 870 Wingmaster with a DLASK ARMS 12.5"
factory barrel, and that the gun was non-restricted because it was going to be used with a full stock,
NOT A PISTOL GRIP. i gave her the exact OAL, then super-politely asked her to confirm all the info i gave her.
the next day i got a phone call from one of their higher ups, asking me:
-what make was the barrel
-what was the OAL
-was i using it with a pistol grip
she said that the person that took the call earlier left no note regarding OAL, pistol grip, manufacturer of the barrel, etc.
im so glad i
specifically answered those questions in advance
#%@$ing incompetents.
