Dominion Powders Now Available

No problem. Canada Ammo has stepped up and offered a great product at good prices. It's easy to like when it seems like I'm getting ripped off every time I turn around lately.

These powders are fantastic and glad canada ammo gave us this opportunity.
Wishing I had bought more of their d800 and 4198 when I had a chance. I'm near out of both and cringe at the thought of spending a mint on the IMR name.

308 Win 178 Eldx 44.5 gr D4895 WW brass CCI200 28" barrel
D4895 lot 1459 May 2020 - 10 shots Avg 2748 High 2777 Low 2729 ES 48 SD 14.5
D4895 lot 1458 Mar 2019 - 10 shots Avg 2767 High 2781 Low 2753 ES 28 SD 8.5

So there is a small difference. What does this really mean?

It means to me that the newer powder is ever so slightly slower. But nothing adding half a grain wouldn't cure. The lots are very close. Much closer than some over the counter canister grade powders have been in my experience.

if you take the avg Velocity and Subtract the 2 numbers the lower the number the closer they are to each other

But
But
there are so many variables .... ie weather / temp / lot of brass/ rifle wear / lot of primers ..... if you can get less that 20 you could almost say they are the same .... but each lot is different

if you can get a load with the SD less than 10 you have a Great load .... SD less that 15 you still Have a Very good load

I have seen the Sd at over 100 .... Mark that one as Do not load again

But the real Prize is a Good Group at what ever range you are shooting ..... and velocity does not matter .... only group Size

I have just the newest lot and really like it so far. 6.5/284 7-08 270 30-06 type loads match very close to imr 4064 data

What an interesting hobby this is. I really like the D4350 in a 300 wm.

Does D5744 work well (good ignition, good burn, minimal smoke) with reduced loads?

I'm looking for something I can use with powdercoat/gascheck bullets in service rifle calibres.
