Crap, one of my favourite 2.5x8 scopes is a touch too short for the CZ Safari .375, the forward base just hangs over the rear of the front base mount by a skinny 3/16". It shoots beautifully and 36 rounds later held it's zero. Me being a picky idiot let it get to me with the overhang and ordered a rail.

Yikes, do not think I can live with that either! No irons left without a allen key, and just too much ick for me, the rings where just what I had on hand for mock-up, never to be actually used... Thank goodness I had the foresight to order the 1.5x5 German #4 also ;)

Puts me in a good place with the rail, have to order a CZ 550 FS 9.3 now and find out what all this red dot hype is all about!! What is the standard for a rugged, good quality red dot sight??

I'm not sure if there is much difference in the receiver length if any between the BRNO 602 and your CZ but I had the same 2.5X8 on standard one-piece Brno mounts, good fit and good eye relief..

try Tradex for a CZ/BRNO one piece base with rings for the BRNO/CZ 602 MAGNUM. It must be for the 550/602 magnum as the spacing between the front and rear dovetail mounting points is longer than standard CZ action.

It has a ring spacing that basically puts one ring above the open area between the bridges. It is made for that rifle...get one and use it.

I capped screwed a pic rail onto my CZ550 416 Rigby to cure the issue and it has been a rock,.... but the correct CZ base/ rings is the way to go. I just checked, they have them for $100.

and btw offset rings are available as well

All you really needed to do was cut 3/16" off the front of the recoil lug on the rear ring and let the whole works come forward.

Let it split the difference on the overhang into the ejection port and it will look symmetrical. The recoil lug only has to bear on the front anyways, just make sure you push it forward when you re-mount it (which you should do with any setup)

Thanks to All.... I looked up and down for offset rings to no avail, my Google Feng Shui sucks I see! The Tradeex site is pretty cool, Thanks for the heads up on the 550/602 mag one piece ring set.

Yes, I would like to shorten the tube on that monster. My choices in 'smiths is getting pretty skinny around here and I most definitely want the front sight retained and not get it back a year from now..... Shoots very accurately so kinda waffling.

Not sure if split rings are your thing or you have a preference, but I have a set of offsets I just took off a rifle I sold..... They are sitting around collecting dust.... Send me a PM if you want them for the cost of shipping....
