With semis you get to pick from SA, SA/DA, and DAO (double action only).
Im not too sure myself why anyone would want a DAO semi for a range gun... as far as I know these are mostly made for law enforcement and carry guns where the double action only trigger is considered a form of safety.
As for SA/DA... not much difference, unless it comes with a decocker. My CZ75 for instance is SA/DA, but I've never once actually fired it in double action. When you chamber a round the hammer gets cocked in the process... so unless you decock manually for whatever reason, you'll never actually fire the gun in DA.
My 2 cents, for the best trigger feel go with a single action such as a 1911. You just won't beat this.
