Good day gentleman

I’m wondering who imports Douglas barrels into Canada ? I’m looking to rebarrel my Winchester model 70 feather weight and I see on there website they have a Winchester feather weight contour available.
Thank you

Just about any gunsmith who does barrel work can contour it. Most barrel makers can do it as well. No need to buy from the US, we have excellent barrel makers in Canada. Douglas is an old name but in my experience there are better barrels out there.
I’m aware that I could have a barrel tuned down to modify the barrel contour but I’m worried about putting stress back into the barrel after it has been stress relieved.

I turned down hundreds with no problems. I had two Ackley barrels in 1968 that warped and Ackley replaced them. Never had another one warp on turning. Not something to worry about today.

I have quit using anyone but Canadian barrel makers now for a few years.
There is a Douglas barrel on my father's 280 , but I now go to KS Arms or Bob Jury for my barrels, although I have several RKS barrels as well.
I see no advantage to going to a U.S. made barrel, and the Canadian barrels keep my money in the Province

Are Ron Smith and Ted Gaillard still making barrels? - Particularly Ted, his barrels were superb.
Ron is still in business, but I'm not sure just how much he is doing in the process himself.
His son and grandson(?) are helping him.
The last one I got from him was a few years back, he rebareled a highwall in .260 for me and did a wonderful job 🙂
