Savage over the Mossy any day. It's "mass consumerism season" so the OP should treat himself to the Savage 10 PC. These are solid, well made & boringly accurate rifles. The accustock & heavier profile barrel make for a primo gopher & coyote bombing platform.

What model is this and how much is it?
Thanks

I have the MVP Laminate Target style stock and MAN IS IT A TACK DRIVER. I have sub moa groupings with factory ammo. It has a trigger that is clean and crisp which feels the exact same as my accutrigger on my savage 22. I grabbed the MVP when it first came out and the price has gone up 200 since then and I think it will continue to rise. I cant speak to the Patrol version but i am very very happy with mine.
oh and BTW can you say LAR Mags??? nothing but good times
Well went and handled a Mossberg MPV Patrol .223 (569.00) , a Mossberg MPV Varmint laminate with scope and bipod (689.00), and a Savage.AXIS 2 c/w scope (377.00) tonight.
And while I like the Mossbergs looked cool the sloppy bolt and stock just made me question them. The sales rep then asked if I knew of the flex I said yes love the design he said really? He then brought a gun with this stock and said look at the pot metal and plastic, then he said now wiggle it....
Then he says forget the gimmicks and have a look at the Savages. I then tried the bolt gritty but not sloppy, then the Accutrigger oh wow for a sub 400.00 scoped rifle I went okay I see what you mean.
He said Savage is not about quality but will keep up with the Remingtons and Tikkas so I am going to pick up the Savage. The stock is so so but hey I will upgrade it later if needed?
So thanks everyone Savage it is.

A friend of mine has an Axis and just received an MVP. The Savage shoots great, but the firing pin spring doesn't have enough energy to fire some military ammo.
The spring is short and about 1 in 10 wouldn't fire.
I am going with him to compare his MVP and the Savage.
