After a long journey from LRB in New York to the US office of I Run Guns in Nevada and then on to Alberta and finally home to BC she has arrived: my LRB M25Medium Match !

Ordered on Feb 13, built on Feb 27th, test fired on March 6th and in my hands this morning via CanPar. A huge shout out to IRG for handling this - it was really great to deal with them on this my first import. LRB were simply amazing to deal with - incredible customer service. What is equally amazing is that I'm still waiting for Chris at Armtac who I spoke to in early Feb to get back to me with a price and ETA for a LRB rifle - guess he didn't need my money duh !

So, my fellow GunNutz here you are - a freshly arrived LRB M25 Medium Match. She has just been all lubed up and is wearing a new Leupold Mk4 8.5-25x56. She is being welcomed to the collection by my unfired bnib SAI NM that I bought thinking I'd have to wait for a year for a LRB LOL! ( hint: SAI NM soon for sale ). Shortly Miss LRB will meet her distant cousins from China and tomorrow she will take a walk out to the lower hayfield for a nice diet of 168g SMK's over 41.5 H4895 served up out of LC brass.

Cheers,

Bob

Looks great....what kind of accuracy are you expecting?

Good question which I'll answer with some, as yet unasked, ones from the Norc fans:

1. LRB accuracy is as yet unknown - just arrived. But everyone knows that a M14 can't hold a candle to a bolt gun if it is a 1/2 moa tack-driver you want. A properly tuned Norc is sufficiently accurate for any of MY needs with a M14 but expect the LRB to be close either side of MOA with the right load

2. Fit and finish is lights-out superior to anything out of China and while 2013/4 Norcs are a LOT better they are still well below the American rifles

3. In Canada I could buy 6.41 Norinco's for the price I paid (all in with taxes etc ) for the LRB

4. I've had a dozen or more Chinese M14's and currently have two really nice ones - a full size and a 18.5 shorty - but no matter how they are dressed up and over the years I've spent a ####load on Norcs they are, at day's end, a Norc. An LRB is regarded by many as being an absolute top-tier version of the M14 and now I'm early-retired I figured I deserved one.

Many people will say - and they are right - that a Casio is light year's better value than a Rolex but wear a Rolex and tell me you would prefer a Casio !

Oh no! Beautiful LRB M25. It sounds like a long journey from order to take delivery. Please update with the range report.
I got the same SAI Loaded NM and it is a shooter. It consistent delivery 1.5-2 MOA with iron sight. I believe the group could be string up with experience shooter and the right hand load.

Congratulations on you newly purchase.

I love it!!! Welcome to the club man
I am amazed it took you this long hehehehe
That rifle truly couldn't have asked for a better home

Nice pair of rifles. I like the serial number and walnut stocks, they look right. Keep them both. One scoped one with irons.

I'm glad you got her in your hands, that's happened in about half the time it took me to get any of my three. I'm looking forward to the range report! I'm hoping yours shoots as well as mine does, I'm sure it will :) Definitely a dream rifle and a keeper for sure. Congrats.

Cheers

giwolf - yes, the wood is really nice on the SAI. Better perhaps than the LRB ( both are Boyds of course ) but neither are as nice as two of my USGI's that I refinished. As for the rest of the SAI it ain't too shabby either :)

Tom - yes, it has been a while coming but I was out of these money pits for a while and thought I was over the addiction LOL ! Now in early retirement I have nothing to do except waste money on nice rifles and raise horses ( did I mention wasting money ! )

tar21 - I guess I will see better groups with the scoped LRB than with the iron sighted SAI but I suspect that if both were scoped or both ironed that the SAI may have the edge due to the glass bedding.

Patrick - it was looking at pics of your beauties that pushed me over the edge ! Thanks also for the advice on choosing the M25 receiver etc. All most appreciated.

I will write and post one of my reviews shortly and I will throw a Norc into the mix for variety.
