Dreaming of another Sako

A Kodiak in 375 H&H would be my choice. It would make an excellent gun for a costal grizz hunt. The H&H is different enough from a 300 WM that you can easily justify the rifle. It is also an incredibly versatile cartridge in a do anything, anywhere rifle.

I'm on the fence for the next Sako to buy. I'd personally like to aquire a small collection of them over my life.

I currently own two Stainless Synthetics in .270 win and .300 win mag.
I know last year when I finally got my .300 that the Stainless Synthetics are not being imported anymore.
Same goes for the Stainless Hunter.

I have a line on a few .243s in Stainless Synthetic and .300 Win Mag Stainless Hunter.
The I am also starting to like the Kodiak the more I think about it.

I have the hots for a stainless Hunter, not the best suited gun for hunting the wet Skeena on the North Coast of BC.
The .243 would make a great Haida Gwaii gun, yet again my .270 works great and to be honest, take head shots whenever possible as the deer are small.
The Kodiak is a beauty but a .338 may not be needed as the .300 would cover all of my bases.

Thoughts?

Am I missing something ? You have the hots for a stainless hunter, not the best suited gun for hunting the wet Skeena on the North Coast of B.C.

I would think a stainless rifle would be ideal for a wet environment . I may need some education on this topic .

I really want to add a m75ss 6.5x55 Swede to my collection. I missed out on one last year.:(

For your new Sako rifle, a 375HH in the Kodiak or Black Bear model as mentioned would be sweet.

I find it hard to believe that Stoeger Canada is not importing the Sako m85 SS models ...that would be IMO their biggest seller.

If you don't want a 243, then maybe look for the 260REM or a 6.5x55 Swede in a m85 for smaller sized deer and would be good predator rifle!!

Well for sure the 308 length action in the stainless synthetic model 75 "feels" a whole lot lighter than the 30/06 action lengths...Fwiw. They both have pretty good records for accuracy though... and seem to me to be very well constructed!
