Drop in folding pump action forend for Remington 870.

Bbb seems to be real good at ripping off other people’s designs and then explaining in less than legal terms why he’s allowed to based on his basic understanding of patent expiration. This product is a serbu knock off. I got in trouble in the past for calling them out on ripping off a SOE chest rig. Come on guys

Welcome (back) to the nuthouse Ungrateful,
If your up to it please use your second post to explain your first..... you seem to be eluding to some sort of inside knowledge that others might actually find interesting?

What is your understanding of the legal issues knocking off a simple design from the early 80's in the year 2025?

It’s part of what do for a living but honestly it’s not important here. I’d always rather have the real thing than a knock off. If it’s not made by the people who designed it feels like it might as well have come from alibaba. I have never been someone who wanted to buy something “almost as good” for almost as much money. Is it too much to ask for some originality? The only reason I even brought it up is because of how frequent it seems to be with these guys. A patent typically lasts 20 years. They know this and make a living on it. What type of company builds a business around exploiting expired patents without even attempting to improve the design or come up with anything new? If you’re not buying the real thing why not just get the $6.99 clump of plastic off whish.com and call it a day?

Thanks for expanding your thoughts a bit more, nothing worse then someone knocking off a good product while the good product is in it's prime.... decades later after the patents are done it's fair game in my opinion. I have many 1911's but none are Colt's.

The thing I never understood with Serbu was their reluctance to sell parts in Canada.... there was a small market of people that would have been happy to buy from them but they did not want to sell parts to others.

I don't need to understand their business decisions on international part sales that's for sure and anyways at this point in time so many years later.....I'd rather have a made in Canada part then anything from Serbu.

I did not know they were still being
made by Serbu?………..

Either way quite happy to support a Canadian company making cool accessories! Why the hard feelings? If you don’t want one don’t buy one! lol, I never get these guys!

Why are you complaining about a part that was made for Canadians, when the original was not even an option for us. What’s the deal, I don’t get it?

This is the way we see it.
We don't make a living on ripping off other people designs.
We have made many nnovations on shotgun products in the last 25years.
But the reality is that the best products in any market are improvements to products that exist already.
Constant improvements as the world changes as requirements change.

Sure are there products we have brought back from the dead.
For sure we have done that , because they are unobtanium and or permently out of production..
But even things like the MCS , it's been permently discontinued.
we have made alot of improvements to this concept as well as added to items.

Thr SOE micro rig.
This is by far not even close to an original concept..
But if you did want to talk about that.
Again we took our shotshell pouches with fully detachable shell stips and improved the micro chest rig.
We took 13 different chest rigs and come up with more then a dozen improvment to this...

The pump forend project is not somthing new, sebru is just the most well know company that has made it.

It is no longer avaliable anywjhere and is oot of production.
again we have improved thie concept buy making one that is a drop in no gunsmithing option for both the standard 870 and MCS lenght.
And of course s gunsmith ready option avaliable to public .
We have improved the fit finish and spring tension of this product amount other things .
We make more then 300 product from body armour, to AR15 bbls, shotgun adaptors springs ,Textile weapons light mount, stock adaptors. Emergency light systems as well as we oem of one of North America largest emergency first aid suppliers.

We will never stop improving products, this is what we do.

It's seems like SJ Hardware built their business around manufacturing quality gun parts, that's the way I see it anyway.
That's why I'm glad they're the ones bringing some of these hard to find parts back to life like the MCS parts and this folding forgrip design because I know it won't be like some cheap thing off of whish.com...
And I'm grateful we have Canadian company that's willing to put their time and money into this just so we get a chance to enjoy some products that have been almost unobtainable in Canada.

i cant wait for the builders kit , or the pieces to do this to mine

I had the chance to check out the folding grip at Taccom last year and Simon took the time and explained the manufacturing aspect of it and I have to admit its a great piece of kit. The prototype was extremely well made so I'm defiantly looking forward to the production version and will be grabbing for myself.

Thankfully you can vote with your wallet and buy a genuine one from Serbu! Oh, wait...

In other news, don't forget to set one aside for me, Simon.
