Dumbest anti-hunting comment you've heard?

not really a dumb 'statement', but ive seen people shoot youtube nature videos of groundhogs chewing grass along the side of a highway and describe them as 'intelligent, beautiful wild creatures'.
umm, ok. theyre one tiny step up from a Norway Rat in my books.

one major source of anti-hunting idiocy is the fact that our cities like the GTA are becoming overcrowded and crime-ridden and an increasing amount of city-dwellers are moving into the country and buying up old farm properties and rural dwellings. they see groundhogs, raccoons, squirrels, chipmunks, field mice, possums, coyote, etc as 'cute animals' instead of destructive pests. they actually feed the damned things while their country neighbors are going crazy trying to control them.

fortunately some of them come around after a year or two of repairing property damage from these animals. but the most retarded 'anti-hunting' comments generally come from these people. when going around each year asking landowners if i can hunt groundhogs on their land i always get a warm hearty welcome from farmers, and the nastiest rudest refusals from city people who have obviously just moved into their 'farm' in the country.

the recent spat of anti-hunting animated movies dont help either, its indoctrinating kids to see hunters as evil idiots and animals like raccoons as cute, beneficial creatures.

remember that movie 'babe' that was made a decade ago? about the talking pig? i dated a chick that refused to eat pork after she saw that.

Damn right, just like that stupid over the hedge movie.

this is the best thread ive seen in a long time.

How about this one:

Wife's ex-friend to my wife who was wearing a fur coat my father gave her: "I didn't know you wear fur. I wish I had a bucket of paint."

I blurted out "I wish I had my gun" but my wife stopped me before I could get that final word out. Her dad was standing in the hallway, and he's a cop.

Needless to say, that's where the relationship ended.

"I destroyed all of my dad's guns the day he died. God gave us cows, there's no reason to hunt and kill animals for food. No reason."

(while in a $90,000 jaguar) "Hunters are just showing off their useless guns because they've got small #####es. Men don't hunt, they go to the store for meat."

It seems that the eco nerds are getting a little better and the average TV watching moron is getting worse. People who are worried about the chemicals in farm animals or the pollution from feedlots are getting more into wild fish and game. At the same time though the whackos have a huge presence in influencing and sucking money out of the unwashed masses. In the UK you are not allowed to remove much less shoot badgers in your own rural yard even if they are a enormous danger to your kids.

Again not really a comment but.....................in the area we hunt deer there is a paved sideroad that people use as an alternate route to the main employer in the area. With deer season on this week some IDIOTS thought they were helping out the deer by laying on the horn when our trucks were parked on the lower road, little did they know that it was just pushing the deer bedded in the cedars along the road to us:)

From a debate with some actually semi militant bunny bunny huggers/ extended family members on the subject of starting hunting:

Them: Why do you want to shoot some animal thats just out there trying to live? Isn't his life hard enough? He's so beautiful, then you have to be some psychopath and go kill him for your own sick gratification.

Me: I'd like to hunt because it gets me outside. It also keeps me aware of where my food comes from and how much work it should be to attain. I want to know the animal suffered as little as possible and that I earned the right to eat it, not just bought a non descript piece of meat pumped full of chemicals at the store.

Them: But store bought is ok. They're meant to be killed...(interval of side debate)... it doesn't matter if animals suffer! Just don't shoot animals or you will have to eat soup with a straw and get all your rifles from the bottom of the lake!

Yep, I said they were militant. Also a little disconcerting that he didn't care at all how much raised animals suffered, as long as no one hunts...
