EAL Buckhorn sight variant? With Pics.

well I didn't find the site but I stumbled over this looking for something else thismorning. anyone need it to repair a bubba ? also a scope mount if someone has one drilled fulla holes

I thought I replied to this but maybe not. EALs were made from leftover Longbranch recievers, all had the hole present for the spring and sight plunger. When I restored this rifle the hole was plugged with a piece of steel dowel, easily removed with a small punch.

Do you mean used, surplus receivers? Or factory new ones?

Most of the original condition EAL's I've seen have very nice, shiny deep bluing.

The bolts are never serial numbered.

I've also got a theory that...the first bunch were made at that Toronto machine shop, but I suspect that later production may have been done at Canadian Arsenals. (Long Branch)
Why? Because they appeared in a Canadian Arsenals catalogue someone posted on CGN, in a list of things made there, as Sporter .303.

Every EAL I've seen has CA proofs on the barrel, and the 5 round magazine models have a CA on the mag. They do seems to have had their fingers into them somehow.

It's all guesswork...there is no info about it.

The gent who eventually ended up with my Buckhorn...fully restored the sight ears. It was an amazing job. He didn't like it the way it was.

I've seen too many EAL's with buckhorn sights to think it was an accident...I believe some left the factory like that.

Another member sent me these pics...of another just like mine (was). Tried for years to get my meathooks on actual pictures of another EAL with obviously factory installed buckhorn sight.
