My buddy was at his cabin north of Kamloops and had a deer come pretty close while he was around the camp fire last night. He mentioned it had a tag on the ear. Is anyone able to shed some light on this? I know they used to use ear tags for studies, but I figured they have moved to using radio collars for that sort of thing.
So, any ideas? Might this deer have been tagged by biologists for some sort of study? Escaped livestock maybe? I don't know what kind of deer it was, but it was only a 2 point buck so it likely wasn't all that old.
