My wife's Grandmother recently passed away and in the basement we found a .22 Long Rifle Eatonia Rifle. If given to me (I'm the only one with a Pal) I plan to register it before the amnesty is over in May. But I have a few questions about the rifle if anyone can help.
1. I own all new pistols and rifles. Once cleaned is this thing safe to shoot? I've taken it apart and everything is in working order. The bore looks good, the bolt fits tight, and rust is very minimal on the outside of the barrel, nothing some CLP wouldn't cure. I ask because I would make it the wife's gun because it's small, and iiI would not want to see it come apart on her.
2. I understand they were made by Cooey. How old is it? I don't think it's worth much so I thought I would refinish it.
3. Lastly it appears to have no serial number on it anywhere, just the stamp Eatonia 22 Long Rifle. Will this make it difficult to register?
Thanks in advance for your help.
