Edmonton-area 3-gun??? Help a newbie get out and watch/play please.

This is actually an interesting point I was thinking about the other day...

Is ghost loading considered legal in multi-gun competitions?

It depend on the stage. Sometimes you start with only 5 rounds (keeps it even between pumps and semis) some you start dry and some you start loaded right up. If you start loaded right up, semi guys have one in the pipe, and 5 in the tube. Unless you can ghost load, then you have seven instead of six. ;)

Same goes for rifle and pistol. You can chamber a round and load a full mag for eleven rounds in the gun.

Regarding pistol holsters, before I buy more awesome rigs from Comp-Tac (I love my 1911 holsters from CT), I wanted to ask specifically re: settable cant holsters.

Is it permissible to have a canted holster (think FBI cant, for an example), or does it have to be either vertical-barrel or forward-barrel?

Specifically, I adore the Comp-Tac Gladiator pictured below:

Allowed?

Got a Comp Tac for my 1911 and the bladetech for my USP has an FBI tilt, yep and yep :)

Sweet. Because I LOVE FBI-canted holsters.

My Comp-Tac rigs for my 1911 are the best holsters I've ever owned, bar none. :D

Compare this to the Bladetech shotzee saw me break just trying to get the paddle off my pants at the range the other day... good thing the bastard came with a belt loop attachment too.

There is still an issue at Spruce Grove meeting the new CFO range requirements.

As of this moment, the Quansit (sp?) and Pistol ranges are the only ones approved for shooting.

CHAS is having their first on the 28th of may, location TBD, but I would imagine that it is Genessee...

Any idea if the CHAS one is for members only? I haven't renewed yet this year.

This is driving me nuts, my wife is filling up our summer weekends fast. I need to get some dates on our calendar.

If you aren't a member of the Tri Gun League or CHAS you'll have to pay
range fees and shoot fees to pay for insurance and the cost of targets.
You don't have to be a member for both but paying for you're yearly
membership for both saves you a lot of money. The fee for shooting is
about half off if you're a Tri Gun member. CHAS memberships are $100 now
until the end of the year and Tri Gun memberships are $20 for a year
from the date of purchase.

Remember all proper PPE is required (eye protection, ear protection and body
armor). If you are lacking in any kit there are plenty of us down there
with extra gear that will be more than happy to help you out (i.e. if
you don't yet own you're own body armor).

Just start randomly booking off weekends and them try and barter them later on as dates and locations change :)

Yea, CHAS has a different approach to the 3 gun genre.

In fact, there are no timers present.

Their idea is to get you better with your gear and work better in teams. I would call it a more "realistic tactical" approach. You work in situations similar to tac teams performing house clearing, etc. Just like the operators, you would be expected to be encumbered like one in an actual scenario (and for the obvious protection of course, I believe Sam from WRAS wears an outfitted plate carrier)

While it may not be for everyone, it certainly has my interest peaked and I will for sure be attending some of their events.

So I spoke to the boss tonight, looks like one of the guys already has a couple days booked off at the end of May, so I might be busy, but he's fine with me doing my run on Sunday so I can shoot Saturday. Anyone have any FIRM times/locations for the CHAS 3gun?
