Edmonton Gun stores?

Go to P&D Enterprises ;)

They are north of central Down Town, but they have the biggest and best selection of guns in the City IMHO, they are also VERY friendly and VERY helpful people, and they have very decent prices! I would recommend them to anyone! :D

Milarm had some of the most friendly staff IMHO. Definately head over to Pheonix to do some shooting, really nice range, quieter than WW at the mall, it's nice too though. There are other retailers in edmonton area as well. A trip over to FirearmsCanada.com will list quite a few.

Another happy P&D customer! :)

I agree, they were helpful, understanding and professional when I ordered a gun from there. I wish I was near by or at least going to visit Edmonton as the pics of their store look like it's worth a visit.
 
Last 2 times I've been to P&D, Phil's taken substantial time to answer some questions and explain some non-mainstream reloading gear to me. ++ on the happy customer bandwagon.
 
All gun stores mentioned are good to go to in Edmonton and you can
access some of their inventory via websites. Personally I would make
the visit to P&D even if just to browse.

+1, A guy there told my friend (in the Canadian reserves, and a benchrest shooter since 7) that he didn't need a custom rifle because he probably wasn't a good enough shot :eek: (because my friend was in his uniform, and the guy saw his "private" rank on his shoulder)

He walked right out the door, then bought a Accuracy International AICS stock for his 700 from P&D :)



Im sure there are nice people, and very helpful people working at "the dark side" but not from mine, or my friends experiance.

Come on guys (F22) that's 1/2 of a secondhand story...

When I was there I found the staff knowledgeable and honest and the helped me choose a pistol. P&D was great too, though I felt rushed at the counter also only allowed two pistols out of the case at one time???, triggerlocks not removed. Maybye I shouldn't have gone there on a Saturday, it was a zoo.
 
I've bought from both P&D and Milarm along with other places in Edmonton as well.

Like it was mentioned above, I like each store for their various offerings.

Regarding service, I've received great and not so great service from them all.

But I still go back...and starting to do more online stuff as well.

I call BS! Milarm is one of the most military freindly places in town and would not be so blunt. I have known the permanant staff for close to 20 years and have worked there off and on. Now I know Gord can be an smart ass if you catch him on a bad day but no one there would make such a comment. Any store would want your money and if you want something custom they would be more than pleased to help spend it. If you make a comment as such then let us know who "your friend" talked to, then let the staff member make a comment if they even bother with this sort of thing. As I said before I highly doubt this. I could write volumes on P&D's indiscretions but those who know and been around awhile don't need a recap. Every gunstore in town has some issue on some level, it comes down to what items your looking for, who has them, and at what cost.

I've been to alot of gun shops over the years. P&D is one of the nicest, clean organized, and the staff are very friendly.....MilArm???...well although I've bought stuff there, I can't say I enjoy finding my gunshop located in a back alley in China town, and being treated like an idiot by certain employee's to boot.

.......just my humble opinion.

As i said in my post, im sure this was an isolated incident.

Im also sure the guy didn't "mean" to sound condescending... He was most likely meaning something like "You probably dont get to practise much since your in the .mil, so something a little simpler may serve you better" but unfortunatly that was a bad assumption, and the way he said it came off as extremely condescending, again, even if he didn't mean it...

My friend was asking questions and getting opinions about custom made barrels and other things for his remington 700, and getting the barrel made to match his ballistic data etc... (or something along those lines, im not a benchrest/precision shooter so it doesn't mean jack to me :p)


I dont like to make statements that "Store X sucks because ______ happened" but the guy my friend was talking to was able to insult the Canadian military, and my friends experiance at the same time... A simple question like "So, how long have ya been shootin?" could have removed all doubts from the salesguy's mind, but instead he made a very bad assumption.


He just got treated poorly there, same reason i wont buy anything from Wild West anymore. YMMV :)

Being more of a milsurp guy, Milarm always have something interesting for me.

Lock & Load is a small store but they have some cool stuff. Blair is a great guy as well.

P&D has a wider range of product than any store for sure and their service is, as mentioned, top notch.

Its true ,everybody know that you're a better shot after you get your Corporal strips.:p
