EE reality check real quick

I bet you did, with 10x more rounds fired than the one I had for sale. I don't know about you, but if I see a gun for sale in mint condition with a box or less through it I have no problem paying close to retail. Skip tax and probably shipping, plus shave even $25-$50 off a gun that's seen maybe a box, box and a half ? You betcha I'm taking that route.

So you came full circle in the thread you started about people's EE prices being unreasonable... to stating that your near retail price was perfectly acceptable for the reasons you stated.... making assumptions about other people's dealings... but that when someone has a price you think is too high...

Your $50 off the msrp and save tax for your gun is less than the 25% off sale price from the local store...

Just saying... and yours was used....

Either way, I'm happy you were able to make a deal you were happy with... I would just prefer you afford others the same, by not complaining that the price they would be happy with is too high for you.

Sometimes it's hard not to facepalm at a response so I'll just go with yes. Yes, you're correct, so right. The nova I had for sale had 15 shots through it the day it was bought then never got fired again. It still had factory grease on it when I sold it. Finding that gun, new, especially now you're up in the high $600's. Mine didn't even have a box through it or a mark on it anywhere. Yes my price was more than reasonable, no that gun didn't mean anything to me it had to go. I had and have no use for a pump 20 gauge shotgun.

When you go through the EE and see Remington 783's, savage axis and Sks's for $600+ there's really something wrong. The ones that really get me like I said in my original post are the browning blr's. You can't tell me you don't see them all the time in the EE looking as rough as a old ww2 lee Enfield that somebody found in a barn, for $800++ and wonder what world some people live in

Going price seems to be set by these forums or similar. I agree 600.00 is way to much for a sks but if they sell then I guess it’s not anymore. The price is only to high if it doesn’t sell. If it’s bought then the price was right. Just like that. The ones that don’t list high sell immediately ya. But you are Kinda crazy if you don’t list with the high side. Especially if you product is in better shape.

at the local auctions I see used guns going for more than the same gun brand new. If somebody is willing to buy it at a higher price, you can bet someone's willing to sell it. Their prices are likely higher than theyre planning to sell for cause people lowball. if you want 600 you dont say 600, you say 700

Yup starts off by saying used prices should be lower then new, then defends selling a used gun at basically new pricing because that's what he feels its worth to him.

So hes like all the sellers in the EE. Post a price that they feel ok selling the gun for.

after the auction fees, both buyer and seller are taking a bath.

EE rant on a sunday ?

Buying process on CGN for normal people:

1- see an item of interest on EE
2- make a reasonable offer or offer asked price if OK with it
3- buyer either accept or refuse the offer. He might also make a counter offer
4- the deal goes on according to step 3.
5- if there was a transaction, both parties leave feedback. If no transaction, no big deal carry on with life

That’s it !

I will add to the high price theory that some people maybe trying to counter balance ridiculously low offer. Recently I was selling a brand new item with a substantial discount compared to buying new (1400$ instead of 2000$ and a 6 months waiting time) and was offered 500-600$ many time before I finally sold it for the asking price.

Price it for whatever you like. Im not a guy that likes making offers, If I don't want to pay that much I generally move on. That said, if I do make an offer, its educated and supportable.

So if you list an item at 1200$, and its on sale at Bullseye for 899$, I'm going to make an educated offer on that item, quite likely 899$, as we both win, you're item is gone, and I have my item.

The seller can hold out all day and that's fine. Occasionally, rarely, this is where a problem can arise ..the seller gets offended, defensive or abusive. Its a little vexing when an educated buyer demonstrates that a price is unreasonable or unwarranted, and the seller still stubbornly won't see the light, insisting that the item has the original value, their purchase price, when the obvious fact I can get the item for hundreds less, in the box, from a reputable dealer, delivered to my door is staring them right in the eye.

That said, though, it still comes down to a seller having the right to do whatever they like.
