EESA Shotgun Match Feeler (JUNE 30TH) date secured

I am going to contact Casey and see if he can thread my barrel for me. I am shooting an IPSC shotgun match in Wentworth next Saturday. Hopefully I can have it done by then because it's all bird shot.

If not, I can lend you one of mine.
It has a longer mag extension than yours so you won't go through any withdrawal!!
:)

I shoot in the second squad.

wouldnt it just be cheaper to buy a longer barrel already threaded, at least then your shotgun wouldnt look so goofy :p

Haha. What? More than mine? I am jealous. How many rounds does your tube hold? Eugene said 10 max for your division anyway and 14 max in the tube for open division.

LOL
not sure if it is longer but my shotgun is 13+1

If the match is IPSC rules then we're only limited to 9 in the gun at the beep unless you are open then 14.
After the beep, you can load as many as your gun will hold if it makes sense to do so.

LOL Mine is 13+1 as well. I actually ordered a replacement tube so I can have 14+1 to compete in the IPSC Open division with the semi-auto super loader guys. lol

Thanks for the offer by the way! Say hi at the shoot next week!

I would love to! :) Seems next to impossible to find longer 590 barrels. Found 500 barrels but apparently they are not interchangeable?

Hmm I did not realize they don't make longer barrels for the 590. Apparenty the 590 and 500 have different magazine tube ends, and the whole tube would have to be switched out to put on 500 barrels.

Is that safety wierd to operate with the pistol grip stock too?

Yes I have to admit I love the tang safety but with a pistol grip it does slow you down a bit. I have been working on it, I am sure I will be just as fast at taking the safety off as I am with my 870s just need some more practice.

So I got my 590 barrel back from threading at Casey's. I had a turkey choke laying around. I remember a guy at the match had a really tight choke and was blasting all the steel. You think my turkey choke is overkill???

That was fast.

Turkey choke, depends on distance and target you are trying to hit.
If its heavy steel at 30+ yards, I may be tempted to screw in a full or turkey.

If its steel at 15-20 and not so difficult to knock down, all you are doing is increasing your times due to the fact that you have to aim much more carefully due to the tight shot pattern.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. Just doing some reading and looks like IC is the most common multigun choke. Funny up until this match I knocked ever piece of steel in all the other shotgun matches I have shot with a cylinder bore and 7.5 shot.

BTW Casey had my threading done in one day. He is awesome.
