EESA Zombie Match

Can anyone shed a little more light on this?

- Where is it?
- What are the specific time commitments for the weekend? Is it all day Friday so do people need time off work?
- What are the facilities like (what do we have to work with)?
- Materials available?
- Who will coordinate the separate stages?
- Do we have any concerns with IPSC vs CDP (what the hell is EESA)?
- Are there any requirements for non-IPSC or non-EESA (ie is CDP holster qualified sufficient to participate?)
- How many shooters do we expect and does this mean squad based rotations?

I'm sure there are half a million other questions. I have no idea who 7.62mm is, but I don't think this can occur without some type of coordinator steering the ship.

I think these are good questions...it is hard for people to volunteer to help when they don't know what they may be volunteering for!
I can't answer many of the questions definitely but I will take a stab at a few since no one else has.
EESA is the East Elgin Sportsmans Association located near Aylmer Ontario. Their facilities are great with multiple ranges available so that multiple stages can be run simultaneously. I don't know about the time commitment but it would obviously depend on the number of volunteers...i would expect that the more people that can help with setup on Friday the better and for those that can't, perhaps they could plan on staying till the end and helping with teardown. At previous multigun events that I have been to at EESA, black badge or CDP course are fine, I don't expect that has changed.

I'm still hopeful that someone from EESA takes the reigns on this thing...

Wow - that's a douche bag answer.
Guess I won't be offering to help out.

Why not? PaulR42 does not represent or have any affiliation with eesa.
Is your skin so thin that somebody's asinine Internet comment is going to stop you from volunteering for this match?

You asked the same questions by e-mail to the group and then ask again here. Your questions were answered, I don't understand why you ask the same thing here?

Group!

There is a group

Man I am always the last to know.

as to the questions...................here are mine (for what it is worth)

- Where is it?...........................................EESA. East Elgin Sportsmen's Association near London Ontario
- What are the specific time commitments for the weekend? Is it all day Friday so do people need time off work? Friday for set up, Sat for the shoot, Advance Prop and stage design mfg
- What are the facilities like (what do we have to work with)? We have pretty much everything you would want or need

- Materials available? Yes just like the above
- Who will coordinate the separate stages? Aha...........there in lies the rub! LOL
- Do we have any concerns with IPSC vs CDP (what the hell is EESA)? We require holster Cert so IPSC and IDPA are good to go.
- Are there any requirements for non-IPSC or non-EESA (ie is CDP holster qualified sufficient to participate?) As above
- How many shooters do we expect and does this mean squad based rotations? Historically we are talking 40 or so shooters. It really depends on what we do in terms of stages and squads and if we go to a two day event.

Well there you have it.................
I have said that I would run some 3 gun Nation stages on the 45 m as part of this match. We can zombify if as needed.

I asked the question's in response to Tom's email. I asked here in case some of the questions could be answered better by folks on the board since I don't believe the people in our group are members of EESA. Sorry if that offended you.

Regardless, your response is typical. And clearly since you value my contributions so little, you won't be shooting the mini-match I am running tonight.

Hardly - Paul is a member of my club and knew who he was responding to. I won't be assisting.

This is probably obvious to a lot of people, but FWIW, taking say IPSC Ontario Provincials as an example, I don't think the whole thing can work unless you have at least a Co-MD from EESA helping coordinate which stages are laid out on which ranges, which stages are using which props, and the other club specific bits required, or at least giving a detailed layout and inventory of props and supplies to someone else to run with. A second Co-MD to handle registrations and other non-club-specific logistics could take some of the load off of the first MD, but I don't think someone from another club can just run the entire show without any input from someone at EESA.

If it ends up being a 2-day shoot I could stay overnight in a motel somewhere and help with ROing, but I live several hours away from EESA so I can't really help with setup/preshoot. I'd offer to design a stage but I'm not sure how helpful this would be given that I couldn't be there to oversee its construction (stage diagrams only go so far).

So there!

Lol,

Wow... Thin skinned and spiteful too.

Thinking about this a little more, I have to laugh. Let me summarize.

- a request to contribute goes out
- I ask some questions in order to see if I can accomodate
- I get insulted for asking questions
- And you attack me for not sucking it up

You wonder why so few are willing to work for the sport???
And yes, I am thin-skinned and spiteful, but at least I'm not a ####.

Lol..

Well, you're still welcome to shoot any match I run.

You know... 'Cause I'm such a #### an' all.

I'm a relatively new member of EESA, and I would volunteer for a zombie match. When I lived in the US, I was involved in the Zombie Shooters Association (ZSA). This is shooting sport designed to introduce relatively new shooters into the shooting sports. See http://zombieshootersassociation.com . I always had a lot fun at these matches and safety was strongly emphasized.

Awwww, where has all the love gone ?

I'm still hoping someone is gonna make this match happen, I'm not an EESA member but I'd be happy to help tear down just like last year.

If "we" can make this happen it would be great. I have a stage on paper to contribute & am willing to commit my time. This does however need to be a group effort, myself & stormbringer planned & put on with help from others some of the first 3gun in this area. I can totally understand 7.62's point here, after a while you burn out. Far too many want to just pay & shoot but not contribute. Personally I feel this is the biggest hurdle to putting on any match.

This is a zombie thread... 'Back from the dead.

My guess is anyone able/willing to assist has moved on and made other plans...
