Not allowed to shoot these things in town, so how do you keep them away? they have been chewing up the wifes trees.. Some people say fox urine should deter them, just not sure how much to use. (5 gallons, 1 ounce...?) You know how neighbours can get...:)

Put a piece of plywood out that has been soaked in salt water. When they come eat it hit them with a stick. Porcupines dont really throw quills so its safe. Then eat them. They are pretty good.

Someone once told me to put out dry cement powder. Apparently the porcupines like it, eat it, then it kills them. Never tried it.

This I have used - powerful slingshot with steel ball bearing to the head. Knocks them down from tree - then axe or machete.

Make sure your dog isn't around!

Catch and release, catch them at your place, release them near someone you dont like.

works well with skunks too. :D

i wouldnt dare try your technique with a skunk....

gotta be smart about where/how you release them, and gotta use the right cage.

if they cant lift their tails they cant spray, so use a small enough cage and release them inside a culvert.

They are pretty slow, whack 'em with a hockey stick or 2X4 if you can't pop 'em.

I've nailed 28 (last count) on my property in the last year and a half. Eating trees, dogs get into them (RIP TJ) tear up my fine country grass........

PITA......

Fox urine is supposed to work, but man, I've been trying to get the local one here to piss in a cup for me for months and haven't got a drop yet.....

Porcs are dumb as bricks. They're easily lured into things they can't get out of. Once in, kill 'em, then eat 'em if you're inclined.
Or set a Conibear trap, just watch for people's pets.:)

They're not very fast either. You can chase them down and beat them to death.

Hahaha im having a laugh at this. But i just gotta ask any BCers here who know if its legal to kill them (for eating) just like any rabbit?

Personally i liked the bow idea best so far.

I'm not sure why this struck me so funny; i'm still laughing. What caliber of stick should be used? d:h: (there was no 'beating a dead porcupine' emote so this will have to do)
