Just wondering if anyone has used one of the new electronic powder dispensers? I have watched a few videos of them working on youtube but real life experience is usually a better guide. I like the looks of the RCBS model. They are not cheap but are they worth it? I now use a lee powder measure and am sick of the tap tap throw the handle tap tap method or is it throw tap tap tap or tap throw tap tap, you get my drift. The new electronic measure look so much more accurate and consistant. Thank you for the help.

got the rcbs, as well..

consistent - yes it can be, stick powders like to clump up and dump a bunch at trickle stage, solved with a McDonald straw

accurate - yes to within .1gn, which is on par with most any balance beam scale put out by any manufacturer

faster - not really, i can throw under and trickle up just as fast as the chargemaster

now if some one were to have 2 of them, then yes the time savings would add up, if your like me, more often then not youve got the bullet seated and the next ready and the trickle is still going

I have 2....The RCBS Chargemaster and the Lyman 1200 DPS.

Both work very well. The Lyman is a bit faster, but not by much
the RCBS throws more "dead on" charges.

For hunting loads, they are as good as it gets.

Regards, Dave.

I have two Chargemasters. For smaller charges, they are quick enough, that by the time that you seat a bullet, the next charge is ready to go. For larger powder charges, you need two, to keep from having to wait for the charge to dispense, between seating bullets.

Rcbs all the way. Warranty is great too.
I had one get a glitch with the key pad. When I called and they found out I was in canada they said the shipping both ways would be too much so they actually told me to smash it with a hammer and take pictures.
Did the deed and they sent me a new one.
Pretty hard to beat that warranty.

That's incredible.. WOW

I as well have the RCBS chargemaster combo. It works great, especially after the straw mod and changing some the parameters to allow it to dispense quicker. Usually by the time I seat the bullet and put it in a tray the next charge is ready.

I have the hornady one don't like goes over even on the slowest setting have been using lee spoons and a rcbs trickler instead of the electric dispenser faster and less frustrating than pouring the powder back in a hundred times because it has gone over.

I thought it was just me but I also have th Hdy and it consistently goes over, especially on stick powders. Major pain in the ass. I emailed Hdy a few days ago, no reply yet. Grrr.

I've got the hornady one as well, I've come to rely on it. Anytime I've has problems with it going over consistently, I reduce the speed..... on the slow setting, it hardly goes over in my experience.

I suppose I'll have to do the straw thing when I use Varget..

I have one, I used it. It's slow. Bought another, the newer one is a few seconds faster but still a lot slower than my Harrell's powder measure even with using trickler to top up charge weights on a 10-10 RCBS Beam scale. I don't use the Charge-Masters any more. I use the Charge-Master scale when weight sorting brass.
