I am looking at Electronic powder dispensers. I have looked on line at the Hornady Lock and Load system and the RCBS system. It looks like the Hornady systems are less expensive and easier to use. Any body own one and can give me their opinion on them.

I like my dps 1200 but make sure you don't have flouresnt lights. The ballasts actually were messing with my scale.
Put in bulbs and it works fine.

I don't know how a dispenser could be much easier to use than an RCBS; punch in the weight and wait. There were some problems years back and a lot of them calved. RCBS stood for the warranties even though electronics only have two years and it seems the issues are corrected now.

I use a Lyman gen 6. Nice n small. Likes to stop 1/10th below the weight I want, so I set it to 1/10th higher than I want lol.

Thanks for the information and helpful links. How has been ordering from Natchez in the USA. They have the RCBS dispenser and scale on sale.

All anyone could ask for. Phone them order and they mail it. When I got mine I had ordered 2 and shipping was pretty cheap for the size of the box. Had to pay $30 to pick em up form the post office but even with all that it was only $350ish each. Heck of a lot better then the $450 they sell for here.

I have an RCBS and in comparing to my mg scale the ES is .2gr. That means that the scale is only good to .2gr, not the dispenser. Of course all dumps that are not on the number go back into the hopper. The straw trick is helpful and I messed with the software to make it faster. Sometimes you get a little log jam while it is trickling up to the final weight and too much will dump into the pan - these go back into the hopper - it can only put powder in, it can't take it out of the pan. I probably get about 5% over weight. I am sure they all have these problems. How accurate do you need to be - .1 in a 46gr load is not as important as .1 in a 25gr load is, especially at 1000yds. Just because a scale reads 46gr does not make it so!
