so, it's accepted as a general rule of thumb that the Bushnell Elite 3200 is about the best bang for buck out there for a scope, beating the Leupold VX-1 (but not II) and Burris FFII etc. I've also seen a lot say the 4200 is really good as well...but how about compared to a VX-II? and what is it about it that makes it worth the extra $100 over the 3200?
I just bought an XL7 in 30.06 that I'll be needing a scope for, so I'm curious to know whether or not it's worth investing into the 4200.
of course, that said...I will take my first opportunity to use a 3200 in one hand and a 4200 in the other, to see if I can discern a difference freehand.
