so, it's accepted as a general rule of thumb that the Bushnell Elite 3200 is about the best bang for buck out there for a scope, beating the Leupold VX-1 (but not II) and Burris FFII etc. I've also seen a lot say the 4200 is really good as well...but how about compared to a VX-II? and what is it about it that makes it worth the extra $100 over the 3200?

I just bought an XL7 in 30.06 that I'll be needing a scope for, so I'm curious to know whether or not it's worth investing into the 4200.

of course, that said...I will take my first opportunity to use a 3200 in one hand and a 4200 in the other, to see if I can discern a difference freehand. ;)

I think you should look there the burris as well because i think the burris is better then the 3200!!! at least threw my eyes more comparable to the 4200!

I think that the 3200 and 4200 are best buys, and yes the 4200s are that good. The new 6500s have it all over most other scopes, and are "best buys" as well. I am normally a "buy N.A. Products first" person but, Bushnell also backs there products.

I haveheard the same thing. Seems to depend on who you talk to, or what article you read on whats the best between the 3200, FF, and even the Vortex.

As i mentioned on the other thread, i wish I had a place around here where i could line all three up and do a comparison.

I have looked threw both and couldnt see myself payin the extra money for the 4200 when i think the burris is just as good!! plus I dont like the eye relief on the 3200-4200!! but everyone has their own oppinions!!!
I need eye relief, being I wear glasses...so that will be an important factor in what piece of glass I do go with. :)
