Embracing my Fudd Heritage

I dug out my semi-completed Fudd Hunting Outfit. Still need prop90 er pants and boots but you get the idea.

I'd wear that coat. We have to have an orange vest or coat and hat here in NB. Orange is Fudd too.

I wore one exactly like that for my first dozen deer or so... all taken with a 94 in .32 Special... that should be Fudd enough.

;)Looks good to me and I still have and use some of the same 'stuff':). The shirt, suspenders and 'red strap' blue jeans held over from my logging days on the west coast of the island. Used on my 1st Mule Deer hunt on draw in Alberta with my Daughter. Also used the inherited pride & joy of Dad's on that trip, his '06 Husqvarna light weight.

Then, and more in line with what you had pictured, on my 2nd Alberta Mule Deer hunt, in addition to what I've already shown, I used Dads old plad hunting jacket,

And last season, on an Antelope hunt, again in Alberta and on draw, my somewhat similar jacket, but reversible.

Hell, I'll be wearing a jacket just like that this year for deer...just like almost every year. Sadly, the required orange vest will tarnish the Fudd-chic aspect a smidge, so I'll just have to rely upon my own innate charm to make the ensemble work. :)

Machined my own multi-purpose tool which among other things (Allen and Torx screw heads) has a blade that fits the Weaver ring screw snugly.
Still have a couple of them in my emergency tool kit that always goes on hunting trips with me.
That kit has save my bacon a few times.

That's where I got my jacket too. Not your dad, mine. I think hunting jackets really come into their own in the second generation. My motorcycle boots are the same way. Dad bought them in the mid sixties. 50 years old, on their sixth set of soles and still going strong. So much so that I don't wear the ones I bought to replace them!

Nice pictures as always Johnn and Thanks for sharing, now just for fun I'm going to dig out my old plaid jacket.
Hmmm, where did I hang it ????

There's a few 'speciality' items as well. Again, from my logging days, kept for timber hunting, a set of :)Pierre Paris caulk boots.

And for those cooler days on a late season Moose hunt for example, a set of wool 'fisherman' pants with ;)a west coast 'cashmere' top, more recognisable as gray Stanfields like a couple of of my partners have on in the next photo.

He wasn't shooting at the tree, but at the deer standing behind the tree. Round nose bullets will go through trees and stay on track for the kill shot.

Barnes Original 30 cal 250 gr - stoke up the ought six and it's unstoppable. No longer sold - all I have are a couple of dozen lightweight 225 gr 30 cals for a special occasion.

I have no more words. Just sit quietly and imagine.

The Fudd is strong with those bullets....

I agree - real bush-busters, those are. Strong with those bullets, the fudd is. Hmmmmmm.

RN bullets give me the fuzz warmies.

Put those Barnes 250s in a Dominion 30-06 case that is full of surplus 4831.

together with the original Fudd camo shirt

and you have the Strongest Fudd Fuzz Warmies!

I've not shot many RNs in my day other than some 154s in my BRNO 12/7x57R. Are there any issues with feeding RNs that are not found in SPs?
