Well, I must be honest here....I've never had the pleasure of eating penguin eyelids. We did used to cook up the deer ones though. Mom would toss them whole and unpeeled into a pot of boiling water for 10 - 20 seconds (careful not to overdo it). This also loosens the eyelashes, makes em easy to yank out. Then flop em wet into some flour with a healthy shot of salt and pepper and into a hot skillet with butter. Mmmmmmm! I could eat a dozen, easy!
One trick we use out in the deer fields is to set up a few mirrors facing your stand, out past your farthest shot. That way, when the deer comes in, you can see the eye on the other side and make sure he's not winking. You always get both eyelids that way. You boys might want to take a couple full length floor models with you in the dogsleds. Don't let anyone tell you that penguins don't wink.

This thread has devolved from a group of true trophy hunters to exchanging eyelid meat recipes..............JEEEZZZZZZZ You guys are as bad as my taxidermist........."Watch out for the eyelids, watch out for the tear ducts, blah, blah, blah...........

Is the eyelid meat as good as rabbit tongues?. We better leave soon I picked up the beer last week. Pile is slowly diminishing.
