Its probably getting close to the time of year for optimum weather for such an adventure. I assume that the most comfortable accommodations would be on a boat . . . one with an ice reinforced hull would seem to be a good idea. I can only imagine the type of reception you'll to get from the crew used to catering to the well healed animal rights types, when they find out you intend to dry stinky seal hides on the rails of their big dollar tubs. That show alone would be worth the price of admission . . . but I feel pretty safe in my assumption that the cost will be intimidating. I guess I'll just keep shooting ring seals.

I think today is a good day to head out.

Current Weather Conditions: Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station, Antarctica. ( NZSP) 90-00S 00-00E ... Temperature, -16 F (-27 C). Windchill, -32 F (-36 C).

It is -27C here, but with the wind it is -40C. Should head down and warm up!!

Leopard seals? PPPPFFFTT. Why not just stay up there and shoot gophers. It's about the same. If you hit on the nose hard enough they die almost instantly. I killed 7 of them on the way to check the mail this morning, 3 by accident.
 
burnt_servo......summertime down there is average in the mid plus teens..........have several buddies who worked down there for 2 or 3 summers building a new airstrip, AND the sun never goes down, so no legal dark to contend with !!!
 
Well if Nine's already down there he can just steal a plane a pick us up in Patagonia. Easy peasy. That shack will fit all of us without a hitch.
 
Food wise gentlemen, PLEASE........thinking more along the lines of Penguin fois gras as a starter with leopard seal fillets or a local fish dish as an entre, followed by a nice port or 2 to round out the meal. Possibly some evening Scotches there after. Depending on harvest numbers maybe we could go with some spicy Penguin wings for starters one evening.........

Well. That didn't work. I found a plane got in it, then realized I had no idea how to a) start it b) fly c) land or d) navigate.

I tried to explain that I wasn't really going to steal it, but they act like they don't understand me.

Oop, GTG, they are wanting my cell phone now apparently. Google prison at the end of the world, I'm on the 3rd door on the left!

Is there no Ocean Cruiseliner company offering this hunt like the "pirates" excursions in Somalia? I would be in if I could machine gun them with a twin M2 from the saftety of a large ocean going vessel and had my own personal FEMALE ammo runner, masseuse, bartender and game cleaning guide!! :p

Actually there are several cruises to Antarctica, checked them out a while ago. None specifically said anything about hunting, but I'm sure left to my own devices ashore for a couple hours, I could come up with something............ dead penguin!!
