enfield 303 scope mount

I have a couple of dozen sporterized forends in better shape that yours, feel free to let me know if you want one!

Smellie is this what you are talking about. This gun had never been apart since I have had it nor do I believe the guy before me did. I remember the the two small holes one on each side of the stock when I got it but had no idea what they were. The screw is holding everything tight and the crack doesn't appear to open when I twist the wood.

@ REEFERMAN:

I would take LOUTHEPOU up on that kind offer, friend.

Yes, that is The Damned Crack and the screw IS holding the wood together, but it appears as if you have a lot of wood missing from critical parts of the Forestock.

I have one here which is very similar, on a rather nice full-length Forestock. So far, it has taken 4 sessions with the Acra-Glas and it still is not built-up enough to assemble to a rifle. It CAN become a long job.

If you have a stock with a decent set of Draws and no Damned Crack, you can get an Acra-Glas GEL kit and start rebuilding this one. Then you will have a spare, you will KNOW how to do the job..... and you are on your way to being the neighbourhood "go-to guy" on .303s! Another possibility is that you could end up being the neighbourhood depository for .303 junk.... which is not at ALL a bad position to be in!

Yep, that is "the damned crack." As SMELLIE states, (and I agree), one of your best bets is to take LOUTHEPOU up on his offer of a used sporterized forestock.

LOU is a pretty good guy, even though he does have this Fantasy of dressing up as Snow White and attending a Gun Club shoot.Laugh2 Just ask him about that.

Ha ha that's funny as I have become the go to guy on refrigeration/ ac problems as that is what I do for a living which can be a blessing or a curse.
2) In the S&K instructions, it tells you that you have to relieve a bit of wood from down in the forend where the screw goes across the front band. A dremel tool would work best. Just enough.

Let me know how it goes, please.
That did it...I picked up a dremel tool on Kijjijji and took my time, its on and the bolt clears :) ....now to sight her in....thanks all .
