Just got this 1943 Longbranch from a oldtimer- Nova Scotia.today by Canada Post
The first thing I did was look at bore as it was first time I have ever bought a gun without seeing it. Well I was stunned how clean and bright it was just like a new rifle.
He sent me extra front sights, and rear sights as I don't think they will let shooters use a A J Parker sights at Mil-shoots.
I am new to this type of shooting only shoot benchrest & F class.don't even know if I will be able to see sights well enough. but this AJ Parker with yellow insert is great.
The gentlman sent me a nice letter explaining what has been done to rifle
He has accurized it to DCRA specifications.
Reinforced the barrel bearing in wood to 3 to4 lbs, crisp clean trigger, firing pin with proper protbusion, correct mating of locking lug's & head spacing.
His last part of letter he says Wish you the best of luck with it, I have a strong feeling it has found a good home.
He sent me 2 wood pices I have no idea what there for he also gave a military sling.

I think it needs a polymer aftermarket stock, cut the barrel down to make more manageable and maybe a good bead blasting perhaps drill and tapped for a scop as well ............

now that everyone's jaw has dropped .....just joking

I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at how that rifle shoots, the bedding has been done the old fashioned (read 'hard') way-with the right loads it should be pretty scary accurate well beyond 300m

Manitou, it would have been difficult to find a classier Lee Enfield, she looks perfect, and from your description, probably IS perfect too!

And after you've invested $900 in it, you can sell it on the EE for $650, a bargain, really;)

That is a gorgeous rifle, well done:)

i dunno if anyone else noticed, but you even got an early style charger there to. the one with slots on the bottom
very very nice rifle and setup

Hi M210,

Nice LB for sure. Yours is in .303 and the other No4 pictured is most likely in .308 according to magazine shape.

No AJP sights for milsurp shoot but you have two military rear that will do quite well if you do your part.

regards,

BB
