Yes, more striker fired guns will show up in Prod. Can't see it doing too much though since it's more about the shooter. Some friends have been changing divisions just to keep things fresh, so I expect we'll see some people hopping into Prod with their aftermarket triggered striker fired guns.

If someone didn't shoot IPSC at all because of the fear of getting beat by a "Shadow", then they are probably the type to make excuses for just about anything and wouldn't get anywhere in the sport anyhow.

Don't tell that to those who made the decision to amend the rules. The whole point was to expand the membership. Most of the young guns are shooting Glocks or other striker polymer guns. You don't see them in IPSC because up until now the rules favour DA/SA pistols. I would not be so fast to suggest they won't be competitive. Vogel won the Production World Championship in Greece a few years back with a virtually stock Glock 17. I have not seen to many shooters go from C Class to Master by simply buying a Shadow2. CZ will come out with a FS Competition ready P 10 soon. Time will tell. As an aside isn't the Tanfoglio the new Champ on IPSC with their Stock111?

Maybe I misunderstood you. Your posts seem to suggest people are staying away from IPSC because the rules favour(ed) DA/SA guns, but then you say people are out for fun, but then if you're out for fun and don't care where you place, then you shouldn't care about what gun the rules seem to favour. Too early for me to follow. I need coffee.

We are on the same page. There is no doubt younger shooters are gravitating to the striker fired pistols. With the 5# minimum trigger pull the striker fired guns were at a perceived disadvantage. For most I doubt it makes much difference but that is for another time.

Given the rule change there will be some who for whatever reason chose not to participate in IPSC may do so with their striker fired guns. Not everyone can afford to spend $1,400 on a pistol. For folks who just want to shoot club shoots and maintain their IPSC membership by shooting one Classifier a year the new rule might prove attractive. The more inclusive we make our sports the more handgun shooters we have, the less likely the Liberals will move on handguns. I know at our club there are more handgun shooters than there are members of IDPA and IPSC locally. Anything we can do to attract new shooters or those who presently own handguns but don't shoot action shooting is a bonus.

Golly, I wish I had read this thread before I bought my Sig Sauer. Why don't people like Sig? 226 or 320? They are so easy to field strip and clean...

Gonna research CZ Shadow now but curious why people don't like SS.

My production gun is a P226. It fits my hand and I shoot it well so why not. And I am seeing a fair number of 320's show up in Production / Production Optics these days too.

The Shadow is a great gun and I always figured I'd get one eventually but haven't yet...

I’m probably just parroting a lot of what’s been said here. I’m a brand new shooter, took my Black Badge in April 2018. Bought a CZ Shadow 2 without doing a pile of preliminary research, watched a video by Alabama Arsenal on Youtube, is about the extent of it and I was sold. I just bought my second Shadow 2 the new optic ready for Production Optics division. I currently own a P-09 and a Sig P320 X5 with a Sig Romeo Optic and an optic ready P10 F on the way I can tell you with 100% assurity, there is a HUGE difference shooting a competition geared steel gun as compared to a competition polymer gun like the X5 even with an optic. I’m a mediocre shooter on a good day with my Poly guns, but even on a bad day, my Shadow 2 bestows a little glimmer of brilliance on me and I say this with honesty, it’s the gun, not me. I took on my dueling tree yesterday shooting three mags out of each (Shadow 2, X5 and P-09) and I ran a complete no miss string of 30 rounds with the Shadow 2 using iron sights. On my IDPA steel target, my groups are tighter and significantly faster than with the other two guns. The weight of the gun truly does get you back on target a whole lot faster. I have gotten the gears from IDPA shooters and even IPSC shooters on the Shadow 2, but truth be told, unless a person owns one, they have no idea what they are talking about. You will not need to look any further than the Shadow 2 if you’re shooting Production Minor. It truly lives up to the hype and of the 5 guns I currently have in my possession, if I could keep only one, it would be the Shadow 2. Of course I wouldn’t be able to shoot IDPA anymore, but that would be a smaller sacrifice than giving up my Shadow 2. Seriously. Buy a Shadow 2, you will not regret it.

Always figured I would end up with a Shadow also,,then I actually shot my buddy's a couple of weeks ago. Not my cup of tea at all, I guess they aren't for everyone, I will stick with my Glocks.
