Eotech Refund

Hey guys, just a question, I was approved for a refund and they asked for the following:
1. This email authorization printed and enclosed
2. Your printed Refund Request enclosed
3. Your matching HWS product enclosed

Is 1 and 2 the same, as I don't see any attachments in the email, just the copy of the email form I sent and their reply which is in email form.

Also, for customs, what value are you guys putting, I know to put warranty return but what about the amount for customs. Did you guys put MSRP?

1 and 2 might be printed on the same email. They were on the same 2 page email I printed, just be sure it has the number they provided to you on it.

I put $100 on mine but knock yourself out.

To those who have received refund cheques from EOTech, were they in American or Canadian dollars?

ETA: So I read the last half of the thread and I just became more confused the further along I got....

I was approved for 569$. I didn't specify which currency I would like my refund to be in when I asked for my refund and they didn't say which currency they'd be paying me in. So I sent it in and have since received a "cheque is the in mail"

email. My question is, will they use the current exchange rate and send me a cheque for approx. 433$ American or should I expect to get the full 569$ American?

You guys that got cheques that were lower than the expected approved refund requests, did you specifically ask for your refund in Canadian dollars? Or did EOTech do this on their own to try to save a buck?

It went super easy for me. I sent in my XPS2 and my magnifier. They were not bought together, but I thought let's try. I put the product code for the kit (XPS2 and magnifier together), and the serial number for the XPS2.
I got roughly 40$ below what I asked, but they did approve the magnifier. I figure 40$ for the couple years I had the units, it's ok. Now I have a Vortex scope on my Tavor, I am quite happy with it.

It was all American for me, and the hold was 6 days from BMO but only because I sweet talked the teller.

American.

I think if you read the fine print on the forms it states payments will be made in US dollars.

I still have to cash mine.

And was it for the specific amount that was approved in your refund request? I was approved for 569$ so should I be expecting a cheque for 569$ American? Or a cheque for an amount of money in American dollars that would have met up to 569$ Canadian on the day the cheque was written?

When you receive a cheque in US FUNDS if you only have a Canadian funds account don't direct deposit via bank machine as they hit you up with an extra hefty service fees compared to if you take it directly into the bank

Don't wait too long, the cheques are not valid for very long.

Thanks. I see 90 days now.

This is now actually very problematic for me. My Manulife One account will only do it if the cheque is made out to them with my details in the memo. My other bank account won't do it either.

So far it seems I gave my EOtech away and got a useless piece of paper in return.

I hate banks. I should have looked into this prior to sending the equipment away.

I just called eotech and they said they mailed it out in April and canadapost sent it back, saying it was undeliverable. Had this address for years. 6-8 weeks again.

Refund Checklist

In order to process your refund we must have included in the return:

1. This email authorization printed and enclosed

2. Your printed Refund Request enclosed

3. Your matching HWS product enclosed

so i print out this email that contains this message. but what is the refund request? the whole email they sent me shows the info i put down on the online form and has all the return info they sent me.

I asked the same thing a couple of posts back and called them, and they were not very helpful in responding to that. I assume it is the initial contact you made with them showing the details of the model and amount you are requesting through the form, which is in the email below your 'authorization' email.

Just an FYI, item delivered April 4th, 2nd one May 4th. I received both Cheques June 10th, even though they were received a month apart....

That blows Shibby!. I just said screw it and am keeping mine. It hasn't given me any problems and is just going to see range use anyway.

Sign the back and anyone can deposit it.

So I received my refund cheque today. I was approved for 569$ so I was kind of expecting to receive a cheque for that amount. My cheque was for 454.51USD$ which adds up to the 569$ and change in Canadian funds. The problem is, they told me to request the refund for the MSRP at the time of my particular sights manufacture. Which was 569$USD. Guess it's my fault and I should have asked specifically for 569USD$ instead of just 569$ (which they apparently took to mean Canadian funds). I've read this entire thread and apparently they've been pulling this #### with other people too.

So, for you guys who haven't returned yours yet but plan on it in the future, do this:

1. Go to their website and fill out the paperwork but when they ask you how much you want for your sight, write something stupid like 1000$ or a number that is a few hundred dollars more than you paid for it.
2. They'll send you an email saying that the refund you asked for is too high and that MSRP at the time of manufacture for your particular sight is (insert number here) dollars. They'll tell you to do the refund request again and to enter the dollar number they gave you.
3. Go back and fill out refund request with the amount specified but make sure you write USD$ behind the MSRP number they gave you.
4. Print all the #### they email you off after the request is approved, and send it out along with your sight.
5. Wait.
6. Receive a "Your check in in the mail!" email.
7. Wait more.
8. Receive cheque for actual value of your site. Not the "adjusted" value EOTech will surely try to stick you with if you do not follow this list.
9. Buy a ####ing Aimpoint and be done with it.
