EoTech won't work!

The one I am thinking about is the same as the eotech...just the bushnell ( I think though they are about the same price)...I have the trophy red dot with 4 different rectiles on loan from a friend to try.. but I need 30mm rings for it..would the EOTech just mount flat on the rail and can you still co-witness the iron sights?

Both the Bushnell holosight and the EOTech (basically the same sight) will sit too high on your Storm's rail to co-witness with your Storm's "iron" sights. Holosights that may allow a co-witness is the Dokter (sp??) or ATN versions.

Sixstar, one more time (as you put it), nobody is saying that you purchased your Eotech to improve your groups at 100 yards. But if you missed it, there are several posts in this thread that mention that some people (not you personally) think that the Aimpoint's dot is too big for accurate shooting at 100 yards - my point, is that if someone thinks the 4 MOA dot is too big for man-size targets (even head sized targets) at 100 yards, then they probably haven't thought it through very well.

Agreed.:)

I personally have heard several people complaining that the dot of an Aimpoint doesn't let them shoot as accuratelly at long range as their 3-9X scope does. So back to my original opinion, that many people don't have a clue what they are buying, much less what it's intended for. So you see, some people do "think" that just because a sight is "optical", that it should allow them to shoot tiny little groups.

I hope you slapped them upside the head. Several times. :p

And my intention is not to be bashing Eotechs - as I stated in other posts, I have used them, and would be my second choice if I couldn't have an Aimpoint.

And it's not my intention to bash Aimpoints, which would be my second choice if I couldn't have an EOTech. :D

I am not sure any of us arm chair commandos can ever know which one is "better". People active in some theatre who use them for there purpose. (man sized targeting)

I have shot the EOTech at a mean looking piece of paper with an AR and comparably used my EBay aimpoint clone. I find that exterior ring on the EOtech clutters up the sight picture and requires one more thought process.

The single dot allows me to blast away postage sized clay fragments with one view of the sight picture.

I also noted previously that the dot can be used in a transparent targeting method to improve on the MOA. I found I could be much more accurate if I could see through the dot and align for the center of the dot... obviusly I am not speed shooting but it works.

The EOTech is the better looking accessory, imo. An Aimpoint looks like the hood & fender ornaments from a '57 Olds. :p

HERESY!

I'm alerting the Inquisition you godless bastard...a 57 Olds indeed.

News flash people. I have a 2MOA Comp ML3 and Eotech Revision F. Guess what. I like them both a lot. Had a problem with the Aimpoint, the optic just died after 1/2 hr of used send it back to them and got a brand spanking new one. :)
