EPIC FAIL... How can IPSC support Action Air especially when they promote it this way

It was not my intention... I was angery and posted here first and then thought this has to be brought to their attention over at GV since it was posted on IPSC's FaceBook webpage IPSCWorld FaceBook.

I honestly thought Pinto would have seen the error but he did not and accuse me of being a trouble maker.

It was not until 20 minutes later from my original post here that I may get "banned" from GV.

unless you have to because of law,....Airsoft for IPSC (let alone a championship), is kinda silly. I see the value for practice (not unlike using a .22 kit), or if you can not get to the range in the winter( which is why I had used one in the past). If the shooters have bad habits for IPSC airsoft, what is going to be the outcome when they use a "real" firearm....

Something to note,...I do think it is a good way to get kids (who may be recoil shy) into the sport...but they should treat them with the same safety rules as real firearms.

The promo video actually had pictures of shooters with their fingers on the trigger while on the move.

That video or a similar one came up in my Facebook feed, I was shocked to see the poor trigger finger discipline. Especially with all the hullabaloo about safety & sweeping of late...

It may be a great way to promote IPSC in some countries but the captured poses just remind me of John Woo movies. Cool looking but not very practical or safe.

Theres is a kid in Michigan that started that way, his grandpa used to bring him out with an airsoft glock, then a .22 coversion on a glock, now he's running around with a full blow sti race gun.

It wasn't my intention but hey... that poorly put together promo video had to be brought up as I completely agree with Maurice as I had this same conversation with my cuz who is a avid airsoftie.... because at the end of the day they're playing with a toy that won't kill you if there was an accident therefore their safety habit(s) suffer IMO and then to see those pictures really p*ssed me off AND how could IPSC World put that on their FB webpage?!?!?

VP really edited my reply post down to mear sentences especially when I qouted some of the sentences he used in his PM to me. How pathetic....

Why even shoot at paper targets?

Why not have teams and shoot each other?

It's a non-gun and has no place in the sport -imho.

And one last thought, what's with the compensators?

And to all the IPSC die-hards, how does it feel to have your sport being slowly overtaken by airsofters?

You guys see problems, I sense opportunity. You could set a few stages for airsofters and the public to try at a shoot. Ding them for safety stuff, like the RO having a loud buzzer. You could also take it to outdoor shows and such and introduce people to the idea of IPSC.

Because when the anti's see that shooting airsoft is "safer" they will argue that there is no reason to have real guns....that would be my first thought!

I do see opportunity a well, I just don't see why it needs to be attached to and intertwined with an established sport. If they want to shoot airsoft.......call it something else, so it stands on it's own merits

Bridge Activity

Airsoft is an effective training tool for Firearm shooting Sports.

As an entry to shooting sports it is invaluable. I personally know a dozen people who got their start in Airsoft and then got their R-PAL, several have gone on to get Black Badge Qualified.

All this despite the jeers and imperious attitudes demonstrated by many here, Imagine how many more may come if they did not have deal with put downs from such people.

Quite a number never go further than Airsoft.. because of such attitudes, it's a shame really.

Pellet guns are NOT IPSC. I wonder if the Presidents Medal the winner gets at an action air level 3 made of plastic too

you wanna go play SOCOM in the woods with them, have fun, but don't call yourself a SEAL or a shooter.

IPSC won't accept multigun, but they will accept pellet spitting toys.

how long untill even pellet guns are considered un PC or unsafe and we have to go thru the stage using an inert trainer that flashes a light dot on the target rather then sending a projectile. Time for new management, the people in charge are clueless

People in countries that are spending their spare time playing airsoft because their governments don't trust them with real firearms should be spending less time playing with toys and more time fighting to regain their rights....

Yes and No... No that is not the ORIGINAL video I had linked in my first post. Yes that is the new re-edited video that Ken over at GV fixed up after I put up a stink about the pictures.

You can click on the GV link on psot #18 and read up the fuss I caused.

Ken admits he messed up on the pictures because he was over whelmed with what ever... so busy he didn't think to be sure NOT to show pictures of unsafe habits like finger on trigger

IMO kinda proves my point that their mind set is not on safety first but instead that "John Woo" action pose and look how cool I look.

Unfortunately I can't make such comments over at GV as all my posts are previewed and edited first.

Hate to break it to you but my cuz and his buddies over at TTAC3 on dupont are already doing "IDPA" they have not asked for IDPA afilliation unlike their Action Air.

That happened because alot of the airsofties where/are IPSC shooter and got some of the IPSC officials involved and the snowball effect began.

Some what it has....IPSC gave them the designation "Action Air" and my cuz and his buddies down at TTAC3 started CAPS afew years back... Canadian Airsoft Practical Shooting. They try not to call it IPSC but some still do because I guess its just esaier. They don't call it Black Badge but "new shooter certification" or "CAPS Certified". They cannot shoot IPSC with their certification but anyone with a current Black Badge can shoot CAPS.

As you know they use the same rule book but with some changes to accomdated the use of airsoft. the rule book is avail for download on IPSC somewhere.
