Epps service

Go to the ammo counter (upstairs...where the reloading stuff is) and never an issue.....other than one guy "looking" and telling me they didn't have ANY of the three types of ammo I asked for.....the same ammo the next guy I talked to walked back and grabbed all three off the shelf for me.....

One I could see, but all three? I woulda been pissed had I left without the ammo as I drove there specifically for it.

That #### happens in gun shops across Canada.

The Ammo counter has a buzzer now. "Press for Ammo" :)

But really, that is one big ass area upstairs. Bullets, primers, rings, bases, chokes, AMMO!...you would think they would have a dedicated guy/gal there on Sat. & Sun.
Even the rest of the store with all the pistol, bow, reloading and hunting accesories etc. There is no one around. They are all downstairs.
Why does a customers have to go downstairs.....wait for who knows how long, to ask someone to come upstairs??

sorry, just some pet peeves. I luv Epps anyway:bigHug:

I've never heard anything but good about them. A friend recently had an issue with a revolver he bought there, and they exchanged it, no questions asked. I look forward to purchasing from them. Refreshing to see a positive post about a supplier, thanks for starting this!

I have never been there and have never even physically spoke to anyone who works there.
But when you email for photos they are high quality and sent quickly, emails are replied to and when you purchase a rifle it is well packaged and mailed out fast.
Thanks Kevin

I have found Epps to be very good for customer service. When you look at the large numbers of customers in there at any given time, it's amazing how patient they can be with each individual.

In the incidents I was referring to there was no one at the counter because they for busy downstairs. I was told to go downstairs and someone there would deal with me. I belong to the Club behind Epps and usually only get up there the odd weekend and it is always very busy I guess.

I recently bought an antique single shot from Epps. Several months after I bought the rifle I recieved a surprise parcel from them. It seems that someone found a small box of sight inserts that originally came with the rifle and sent it to me. I'm sure that a lot of people would not have bothered sending these parts, but the people at Epps did. I'm pretty happy with their service :D

I have had similar good and bad experiences to those mentioned here. My only really "bad" experience was my first dealing with them, and there was an issue with the amounts promised on some trades. The amounts I was told seemed fair but then when I was told about %'s coming off of the amount if it was for sale, trade or consignment, really brought the amounts down, and that was before ATT's for consignment/sale were not automatically for a return trip in case there were issues, so I basically had to go along with it, or leave the guns there and get an ATT to go back again to pick them up. I have learned my lesson and now our communication on that sort of thing is gone over to the n'th degree before I go in. Never a problem since.

If you are having problems being ignored, here is my advice. Look like you are there to buy something and that you know what you want. If you are there looking all sheepish like a deer in the headlights you probably can get passed by if the next guy looks prepared. I hate waiting in a line up only to have the guy in front of me start asking questions and chatting monopolizing the sales guys time. That is what email is for. Ask your questions ahead of time, wait the day or two or ten to get the answers. That way when you go in, you are prepared to do your transaction, you get it done quickly and Bob is your uncle. Look like your next to be served and you will be. Be the ball.

Kevin always answers my emails right away, even if I am an idiot and ask the same question over and over. We usually get all our business worked out on line, then when I go to see him, it is basically "Hi", do the business, then "thanks, come again". I could not count the amount of times I have emailed and asked him about certain guns without buying them, I cannot fathom people doing THAT at the store holding up folks who know what they want, got the coin in hand and want to get out of Dodge ASAFP.

I honestly think it must be because im just of age to be buying guns , and maybe the feel that i might just be some kid without a pal. It wasn't really busy when i was there , two person line but i just get ducked and avoided by nearly all the employees. Glad the rest of you had good service.

and @ Paden Full who said name one other gun store where that hasn't happened to me i have two. Accuracy plus and Trombleys. If only they had the selection and pricing that epps does i would avoid epps for good. Definatley looking to spend more money at cabelas and those two stores though

I've dealt there for decades and the only problem I ever had was not their fault ,but that of one of their suppliers. As soon as the part I ordered came in I had it. Only downfall to Epps is my wife has figured out the bank account will take a hit when I get there!
