No melting required and it costs nothing which is better than paying billions of tax payers dollars. So grandfathering makes sense after all after the owners death the gun is sold to others who has the licence to hold this gun or it gets destroyed

They banned Parker Brothers 8ga s/s shotguns! We can debate the ethics of hunting with an 8ga another time, but this should be evidence that the government will ban anything they want and call it a "weapon of war".

Parker Brothers shotguns are probably some of the best-made shotguns in the world, but I wouldn't want to test that by firing a 20mm round out of one.
