Wondering if there's anybody like me that has ever bought a set if dies, not having a gun in that particular cartridge yet, because "I might one day" or because the die set itself was too good a deal to pass up?

Just did this at a gun show this past weekend.... For me it was a combo of "I might get a gun in that ctg one day AND the die set was too good a deal to pass up.... :runaway:

Oh!....where did they come from?

I had ten sets of dies given to me last week. One set in particular intrigued me as I have been feeling the Mosin-Virus setting in. A new set of CH dies in 7.62 Russian. Now, go figure that! Is that not an omen to be acted upon? Will my wife understand? Dave

Ya,
I have few sets of dies I do not load for.
I load for 10 rifles and three handguns and have several more dies for other so called future projects :)

I have absolutely done that - more than once too!!!

I've bought dies, brass, powder, and bullets thinking I might/should/want to get into that caliber. Most of the time I follow through and have a great time developing loads for a 'new' caliber. There are some die-sets I have had (and brass) for which I haven't ever loaded a single round - then sold 'em.
.....because if you make the room for another set there's bound to be one to take it's place......

Things are cleaned-up in the reloading room right now so I can only imagine what that means.......

So, go out and pick up a set of dies and good things will follow.....:)

Worse...I have bought dies... brought em home and checked my cupboard to find I already have the same calibre..in fact in one case I had 3 different sets of the same calibre :kickInTheNuts:

Well, please tell us, for what caliber?

I have done that so many times that I've lost count! Might as well be ready!:dancingbanana:

I once bought a set of dies, shell holder & 1000 rounds of brass for a handgun that I didn't own at the time but do now!:runaway:

I have extra dies that came with a whole kit I bought used. I know I will never use the .32 Auto set and the .223 I really have no use for at this time. I do need a set for 9mm Luger though. All for a LEE turret press.
