I have not yet forgotten ammo for a hunting trip, but did forget ammo for one rifle which I took to the rifle range to sight in.
Of course, it was one of about 7 rifles I had with me and had ammo for.
Eagleye.

Not ammo but had to cut my gun lock off a BPS in Moosonee when the keys were in my truck in Cochrane which was a 4 hour train trip away...

And living in a small town in NE Ontario, I always get a call every fall from our local CTC store along the lines of " we have a hunter here looking for a box of ###x WSSM (name your obscure ammo here), do you know where he can get some? :D

I have not forgotten ammo, but I once hunted with a fellow using a 7mm rm who was using some hand loads that were given to him by his brother. Well as it turns out, they either weren't trimmed or were neck sized for his brother's rifle, and wouldn't chamber in his.

Ammo was bought in a general store in bf Alberta.

I have been known to forget pretty much anything... but luckily I have always brought my ammo! (so far) I did go bass fishing last year and forgot my tackle box... however my fishing buddy had lots and kindly rented me lures @ $5.00 apiece. :)

When I go on a serious trip...any trip in fact, I make a list of everything I want to take.
Then, when the item is loaded into the truck, I cross it off my list. Not foolproof, but sure helps!

now...what was I just doing???

Lucky

I like blind mags or singleshots, that way no mags to lose or leave behind !!! Anything with a mag gets stored with the mag in the gun,so not gonna get left behind !!! ;0) !! When I am gonna head out more than 10 miles from home I make the 'TAKE LIST " !!!

No, i have never left the ammo home.

Lost my wallet a couple times, and my keys once. I forgot my wife at the mall once, and she threatened to misplace my balls for me. You'd think she would be grateful i went back to get her. Who understands women anyways?? ;)

But I have never forgot or lost my ammo or my rifle, ever. One must have priorities.

Forgot my key for the trigger lock, now I have a spare on my vehicle keys. Forgot my mag a couple times, but was only about 4 blocks from home thank god.
I have forgotten my e-caller on the roof numerous times only to hear a clunk and see it bounce down the road lmao.

Yes it has happened to me. In the rush of getting things loaded for a trip I missed throwing in a duffel bag once or twice with essentials including my ammo. I have also seen it first hand with many different people when I used to help out at a small rod/gun shop years ago in a small town in Northern Ont. It is prpbably more common than you think. The guy sold quite a few clips that way too.

Trigger lock is a big one, I see that all the time. I try to avoid those silly things.

A few years back, settled into my stand on a fine Thanksgiving morning, with a beautiful frost on the ground and the sun just starting to rise... you know the kind. An APB went out on the radio from one of our guys asking if anyone had spare .308 ammo. He was promptly scolded for all to hear, to which he replied that it wasn't his fault, since his wife had packed him the wrong ammo. He no longer hunts with us, but his man card hangs over the doorway as a reminder to all.

Been hunting for over 40 years, hasn't happened yet, usually bring a couple of rifles just in case a fail happens.

When you'r ein the middle of BF Nowhere there isn't anywhere to get ammo if you do forget it.

As an aside, and interesting bit of trivia, when I looked in the cabinet at the local Northern Store there was nohing in 30-06. 223, 270, 303 but no '06. Sure glad I brought a common calibre for the ease of obtaining ammo in an emergency!:D

Never been a concern. Gun, ammo and boots get packed first. Everything else is replaceable along the way...

Never ammo but I have had buddies forget keys to their locks...that is why I tell everyone to go COMBO LOCK!!!

The the 209 primers holders for my Knight ML. The only thing that save my ass was ONE exipred one caught in the weather stripping of my truck door. Gingerly popped out the old rusty crusty primer and inserted a new one. Got two deer that trip - even though the primer was pretty sloppy the third time I used that tired old .209 disc.
